On this day in Southern Seminary’s history R. Albert Mohler, Jr. began his first day as president.
While he did start “in a time of storm” we celebrate today all the Lord has done through his convictional leadership.
Since then, over 13,000 graduates have been trained, educated, and prepared for gospel service and Southern Seminary is vibrant and healthy, looking forward to God’s continued work through @albertmohler.

Dr. Hershael W. York will conclude his service as Dean of the School of Theology at the end of the 2025–26 academic year, and Dr. Andrew T. Walker will assume the role beginning August 1, 2026.
Dr. Mohler described the moment as one of both gratitude and confidence, noting that this transition marks a movement “from strength to strength” in the seminary’s academic leadership.
