In the final moments of this call, the shooter's mother recognizes there have already been other emergency calls about her son. I cannot imagine the horror of a mother learning that it is already too late to stop her son from committing an unforgiveable act.
"He's non-violent, he's never done anything," the shooter's mother says.

UPDATE: Internet sleuths have helped me track down the source of the attack campaign: a trade association for the coal industry called America's Power. Their "dependable power" campaign looks very similiar in style and messaging to the Kentucky website and blog.
A shadowy blog that claims to be a nonpartisan coalition of business and local leaders has been paying this platform to advertise a blog critical of my reporting. The website has no personal info. It appears pretty well-funded.
