ICYMI....Best video of day! 4 year old Finn Lippert dancing with these Georgetown Sanitation workers.
Mom Erin says Finn and other neighborhood kids love these guys, who always honk the horn as they come down the street. Finn decided today was the day to do some dancing!👍👍
Amazing photo 📸captured today by Dayna Snyder! It appears the lightning is intertwined in the cables of the Ravenel Bridge. WOW!!! @NWSCharlestonSC@WCBD@StormTeam2WCBD
Wow! 33 years at @WCBD! Seems like just yesterday I was walking into the good ole Quonset hut at 210 West Coleman Blvd. for the 1st time! I have had the honor and pleasure of working with so many amazing people, and have loved getting to know so many of you! Thanks for watching!
Happy 32nd Anniversary to the most AMAZING wife and mother! She is always thinking about others first, and I know she wouldn’t have it any other way! I always tell people that God sent me to Green Bay, Wisconsin for a reason! You and the @packers! 😘Love ya Cara!😘
FOWLER FLASHBACK.....January 3rd, 2018! 3 years ago today this was the picture I took in front of our @WCBD News 2 Studios. We ended up with 5.3” of snow at @NWSCharlestonSC that day! Let’s see your favorite photos of the snow on January 3rd! (Today will be close to 70!)
Not something you see every day! A Bear on a dock in Awendaw today. I am told it napped a few hours on a dock down from the Wagner house then slipped in the water and swam ashore. 📸Tobey Wagner and Nancy Smith. @WCBD@StormTeam2WCBD
Daniel McCauley also sent this video from The Hammocks in Cane Bay. This is what almost 9” of rain in 6 hours will do. @StormTeam2WCBD@WCBD@NWSCharlestonSC
Congrats to our own StormTeam2 meteorologist Grace Lowe for walking across the stage this afternoon at the College of Charleston to receive her degree in Meteorology! What a pleasure to be there to witness in person! @grassloww @StormTeam2WCBD @collegeofcharleston @WCBD@cofcwx
I’ve seen boats, water skis, kayaks, boogie boards, but this is the first time I have seen a jet ski! Actually, these young men I am told were heading to the truck to see if a rescue was needed! Video from David Frederick from America Street in Downtown Charleston!

35 years later, Hurricane Hugo remains the last major hurricane to make landfall along the South Carolina coast. Not only did it change the landscape, it changed lives, mine included.
This is why each year we remember!

As Cara Fowler is my witness....as we were walking on the University of Virginia campus, a guy yells out from a Jeep driving by...”Hey Rob Fowler....Go Gamecocks!”
So excited for Trey, Amanda, and Big Sister “Sugar”.....We are going to be Grandparents!!! @ Mount Pleasant, South Carolina instagram.com/p/B_KjZ_9hOfF/…
9pm on Sept 21st, 1989, then Meteorologist in Charge of the @NWSCharlestonSC Dick Shenot told me he needed to come on @WCBD and let viewers know Hugo was not turning toward Myrtle Beach...it was coming right into Charleston Harbor. I will never forget those words. He was right!
Anyone else in Charleston having Chick fil A withdrawal? Craving my #1 with a Diet Coke! LOVED the snow, but now it’s time to get back to a normal routine! @ChickfilA
Watching Alex Trebek’s last show tonight on @WCBD. The last thing he said was “see you next week”.....Thanks Alex for entertaining and educating us for so many years! You will be missed! @Jeopardy

From Suzanne Flohr…”Perfect view from Mount Pleasant of the Falcon Heavy rocket that launched from Kennedy Space Center. Taken by my daughter Rowan, age 13.”

Here is a comparison of how much the forecast track has changed in 24 hours! Yesterday a predicted landfall in FL, today a potential landfall farther north in GA or SC. Let’s hope the eastward shift continues! #Dorian
Wow! A surprise check for 50,000 dollars from @Walmart to Principal Henry Darby and North Charleston High School LIVE in @TODAYshow and @WCBD! Well done @craigmelvin for helping to make this happen! So proud of this place we call home!
As my neighbor Phil says…”I was in the right place at the right time! Moonset was beautiful this morning! The moon will rise again at 5:09 as the Full Wolf Moon! Thanks for the photo Phil! #fullmoon#micromoon@StormTeam2WCBD@WCBD
We reached 90 degrees today, which will most likely be the last 90 degree temp for at least the next 10 days, and maybe the rest of the year! Who is ready for some 70's? #stormteam2#chswx#scwx#tasteoffall
We are definitely seeing more consistency and agreement in the American Model (GFS) and the European Model (EURO).....Our confidence is growing that a winter weather event will happen next week. We need more time to determine possible accumulation totals.

It’s another trip around the Channel 2 sun!!!
37 years ago today I walked into the old Quonset Hut at 210 West Coleman Blvd. for my first day of work as the Chief Meteorologist at @WCBD.
37 years later I still love what I do, where I do it, and the people I do it with!
Hugo remains the last major hurricane to make landfall along the SC coast.
Not only did it change the landscape, it changed lives!
It’s an experience I would rather not go through again, but we know a Hugo like storm will happen again.
This is why each year we remember!
Here is our Historic Charleston Foundation Camera on Charleston's Battery. This is about an hour away from the high tide at 8:24pm. We could see a tide well over 8 feet, even close to 9 feet.
