For anyone who sustains water damage: when placing a claim do NOT use the word flood. At all. Don’t even agree that your house was flooded if they say something like ‘oh so the house is flooded’. No. Bad. Respond using ‘no my home did not flood, my home had water intrusion/damage due to hurricane winds and rain’ Use things like ‘water intrusion from hurricane winds’ and ‘water damage due to hurricane force winds’. WATER INTRUSION AND WATER DAMAGE. No flood. They will throw out your claim faster than you can finish speaking.
Same goes for your car and anything else insured. When submitting a claim don’t just say ‘toaster’ cause they’ll go as cheap as possible and send you a $7 Walmart toaster even though you had a $450 Hamilton Beach 4 slice digital toaster or something. The more serial numbers and photos and receipts the better honestly. For everything. Appliances, furniture, electronics, etc. Cannon camera with 2 lenses can go from $1,200 to $70,000 real fast if you don’t specify make and model and generation and all of that. Stay safe.
It’s about phrasing the damages as hurricane damages. Hurricane insurance and flood insurance are two separate insurances. Even if you say ‘hurricane caused flooding’ they will put it under flood insurance and your claim will be wholly denied. ‘Water damage due to hurricane’ is the best classification. Not flood damage. Your home sustained water intrusion not flooding.

So yesterday, my wife asked me why I looked upset. I told her it was because of a post I saw. She asked which particular post it was. I then showed her the video in Israel of Shani Louk in the back of a pickup truck after she had been kidnapped, beaten, killed, and God only knows what else. I saw the look of horror in her eyes.
The thing about my wife is, she is a very kind person and I often shield her from a lot just because she has a very innocent personality and soft-spoken demeanor about her.
A few hours went by, and we were sitting on the couch with our 6-month-old. She began to cry. I immediately thought something was wrong, so I asked what happened. She told me she could not stop thinking about that girl and how heartbroken and filled with rage she would be if she were that girl's mother.
She asked me if I thought if it could happen somewhere like America and I honestly told her yes. As she is someone who does not like politics, I told her, this is one of the reasons I am so worried about the state of our country. With all the left-wing policies and border situation, a lot of these extremists could very well be in the country already planning something. I reassured her that with our defense system in place, the chances of missiles hitting us is very low, but we needed to make sure we had protection.
She then went on to tell me that we needed to buy more guns and a safe and teach our son to shoot once he is old enough.
The point I am trying to make here is that even people who care nothing about politics are waking up and seeing the state of the world and just want their children to grow up in a better society. I finished the conversation by telling her this is why I'm voting for Desantis and that I believe he is the only one who can heal this country and get it back on track.
