This is why I voted against the procedural rule. Voter ID must be included in the base text to prevent the Senate from stripping it out! Base text or bust.

The current plan being proposed by HOUSE GOP to “MIRV” NDAA + SAVE AMERICA is a procedural head fake. This does not do anything but guarantee the Senate will EASILY TAKE OUT SAVE America from the NDAA. HOUSE GOP LEADERSHIP SHOULD allow an AMENDMENT to ATTACH VOTER ID + PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP or SAVE America to the ACTUAL TEXT of NDAA. IF IT IS NOT DONE THIS WAY, IT WILL EASILY BE TAKEN OUT. If we do it as an amendment, the way that I proposed it, the Senate would need 60 votes to pass the legislation without SAVE America attached. Meaning it would be harder for them to TAKE it out.

On June 6, 1944, our brave Allied forces landed in Normandy and began the liberation of Europe. On D-Day, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and valor of the Greatest Generation, who changed the course of history and preserved the precious freedom that is too often taken for granted today.

Eighty-two years ago today, freedom stood on the edge of extinction, and Allied forces stormed into hell to help save the world. We will never forget the courage, the sacrifice, and the blood spilled on that fateful day.
