One year ago today, the House voted to pass the Big Ugly Bill. Since then, things have only gotten worse for hardworking Americans.

The problem with trickle-down economics is that it has NEVER worked.  It’s way past time for corporations and investors to PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE!
American workers' share of the nation's income is at its lowest point in almost 80 years, as more of the economy's gains flow to corporations and investors. cbsn.ws/4oWIjRV

One week ago, Donald Trump didn’t show up to his own signing ceremony. We still don’t know if he’s going to sign a bipartisan bill to lower housing costs.

This is corruption at a scale we have NEVER seen from a President of the United States. Treating it as normal is exactly how he gets away with it. While he made huge sums of money off his memecoin, the ordinary people who bought in were wiped out, losing more than 95% of their investment. Donald Trump didn’t seek the presidency to serve the American people. He sought it to profit off of them. wsj.com/politics/policy/trum…

How it started: Trump said he'd detain and deport the "worst of the worst". How it's going: ICE detains a nun on her way to church.
A religious sister on her way to Sunday Mass at a church in the border city of McAllen, Texas, was detained by U.S. Customs and Enforcement agents for several hours June 28. americamagazine.org/news/202…

On the last day of Immigrant Heritage Month, we honor the courage and determination of immigrants who have helped shape our nation’s history and continue to enrich PA-05 and communities across the United States. America was built by immigrants, and this month serves as a time to recognize and celebrate the generations of immigrants whose cultures, talents, and contributions continue to strengthen our communities and our country.

If you were born here, you are an American, period. I commend the Supreme Court's ruling against the President's attempt to overturn the plain language of our Constitution and more than a century of legal history.

I introduced a common sense amendment from @RepBrownley that would provide our female veterans with services and reproductive care that they have earned, and every one of my Republican colleagues voted against it.

BREAKING: House Republicans just advanced their voter suppression bill in the Rules Committee. If the Rule passes tomorrow, the SAVE Act will automatically be added to the National Defense Authorization Act when it passes. This bill will make it harder to register to vote, especially if you’re a woman, live in a rural community, serve in the military, or are a Tribal voter. If you’re wealthy enough to have a passport, you’re fine. But more than 21 million Americans don’t have one. Under the SAVE Act, a REAL driver’s license in many states or other common forms of ID wouldn’t be enough to register. Don’t call this a voter ID bill. A true voter ID law could accept a REAL ID driver’s license. This isn’t about election security. It’s about making it harder for eligible Americans to vote.

NEWS — The House Rules Committee just advanced a rule aimed at breaking an intra-Republican deadlock But GOP leaders are still facing a major battle to regain control of the House floor tomorrow — as they struggle to pass the NDAA and more this week The rule, if passed on the floor, will merge the House-passed SAVE America Act with the NDAA, once the defense policy bill passes the House. BUT - this version of the SAVE America Act leaves out President Trump’s latest demands — including a near total ban on mail voting that House GOP leaders have privately warned cannot pass the chamber. A huge fight ahead tomorrow. @RepLuna has said this plan isn’t enough. other hardliners say there are other outstanding issues. This also prolongs NDAA fight in Congress. Republicans want to waste time and taxpayer dollars passing a bill that celebrates the deeply unpopular Big Ugly Bill's birthday. 4 million Americans have lost their health coverage, 770k children have lost their SNAP benefits, investments in renewable energy have been rescinded, and enormous tax breaks have been given to billionaires. Americans struggling to afford health care, gas, and groceries are unlikely to see what there is to celebrate.
