#OTD in 1964, President Lyndon Johnson signed the #CivilRightsAct into law.
The CRA is an incredible shield against discrimination, including for the LGBTQI+ community. As we celebrate 62yrs since its signing, we recommit ourselves to the fight against bigotry & discrimination.

Women deserve healthcare backed by research, not politics.
We are calling on the Trump administration to end attacks on women’s health research, restore critical funding, and ensure researchers can continue developing treatments that save women’s lives.
While millions are losing their health care and struggling to afford a tank of gas, Republicans are prioritizing a hearing on the tax treatment of multibillionaire sports team owners.
@RepJudyChu:
Today, Republicans are celebrating one year since Trump’s Big Ugly Bill gutted $1 TRILLION from our health care system, ripping coverage away from 15 million Americans.
In our district alone, over 39,000 people will lose their coverage and another 66,000 will see their health care costs go up.
Americans are worse off today under Trump’s Big Ugly Bill. That is no reason to celebrate.
For 60 years, Medicare has been a lifeline for seniors and people with disabilities. Democrats strengthened that promise by finally empowering Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug prices and take on Big Pharma.
Republicans are moving in the opposite direction—slashing Medicaid, allowing Affordable Care Act costs to rise, and weakening the health care system millions of Americans, including many Medicare beneficiaries, rely on.
I'll keep fighting to protect and strengthen Medicare and make health care more affordable for everyone.
I joined @latimes’s Rebuilding LA Podcast to discuss FEMA's recent approval of California’s request to extend the Individuals and Households Program (IHP) for survivors of the LA Fires.
This was an important step. But Trump continues to withhold supplemental aid, delaying relief and recovery for our community & survivors.
Supporting disaster survivors should not be a partisan issue, and I will continue to fight for survivors in my district and nationwide to receive the aid they need & deserve.

Happy National Postal Workers Day!
Today, we celebrate the more than 500,000 dedicated postal workers who work tirelessly to deliver the mail that keeps millions of Americans connected every day. From essential packages to vote by mail ballots, we thank you for your service.
Trump's recent financial disclosure reveals that he profited at least $1.4 BILLION from his family crypto scheme alone. From accepting payments from foreign governments to collecting payouts from baseless lawsuits, he is using his presidency for self-enrichment.
This is corruption. We need accountability.

Today, I joined my Democratic colleagues to celebrate another major victory for Americans.
The Supreme Court reaffirmed that if you are born in the United States, you are an American. Despite Trump’s pathetic efforts to overturn this fundamental constitutional principle, birthright citizenship stands strong.
Americans are in a housing crisis, and Trump thinks “it’s so unimportant.”
Congress passed one of the most significant bipartisan housing reform packages and Trump is still refusing to sign it into law unless he can launch a federal takeover to rig elections to benefit himself.
As always, he’s putting himself first before Americans.
Q: What are your plans for the housing bill?
TRUMP: I don't know. I think it's so unimportant when compared to the SAVE America Act. It's very bipartisan. That means the Democrats like it.
‼️FINAL REMINDER‼️ If you were approved for an @SBAgov disaster loan, TODAY is the deadline to accept & access your approved funds.

We know this Pride felt different for many in the LGBTQI+ community. As we round out Pride Month, our Chair, with several of our Co-Chairs & Vice Chairs, wanted to send a message to LGBTQI+ Americans:
We'll always have your back, during Pride Month—and year-round.
Happy Immigrant Heritage Month!
This month, and every month, we celebrate the generations of immigrants – including the more than 270,000 immigrants who call CA-28 home – who power our economy, create jobs, open small businesses, enrich our culture, and make America stronger every day.
This is great news for American democracy.
Trump and Republicans attempted to interfere in our elections. They failed.
Mail-in voting is a safe, secure, and reliable way for Americans to make their voices heard. This attempt to block the counting of legally cast mail-in ballots after election day – where they are valid under state law – undermines the democratic process. Every vote must count. I will never stop fighting to defend this right.
Breaking news: The Supreme Court upheld a Mississippi law that allows officials to tally mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day that arrive later, a decision that keeps voting procedures in place in several states as the midterm elections loom. wapo.st/4b21lAH
Last week, I met with several of my constituents impacted by the Eaton Fire. They lost their homes, their businesses, and, for some, even their loved ones. They are doing everything they can to rebuild. Now the federal government must do its part.
President Trump needs to fulfill Governor Newsom’s disaster supplemental request immediately and with no strings attached. Disaster relief should never be a partisan issue.
Yesterday, I joined @BradSherman, @CongressMin, and KAPAC to call for lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.
For more than 70 years, families have lived with the consequences of a war that never officially ended. I'm proud to cosponsor the bipartisan Peace on the Korean Peninsula Act to help advance diplomacy, reduce tensions, and move us closer to a permanent peace.
