Honored to serve the great people of CO-03. 🏔️ Conservative. Husband. Father of five. 🇺🇸

Grand Junction, CO
I represent Colorado’s Third District, and I will always put our communities first. When I took office, I swore an oath to the Constitution and to the people I serve. Every vote I cast is guided by what is best for this district and the long-term strength of our country. Leadership requires independent judgment and the willingness to stand on principle. My focus remains on delivering results for rural Colorado: • Strengthening American energy production • Supporting our farmers and ranchers • Restoring fiscal discipline • Protecting our water resources • Backing our veterans and law enforcement That’s the job I was elected to do — and I’ll keep doing it with conviction, optimism, and a deep gratitude for the people I serve.

Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins and I spoke this morning about the devastating wildfires across Colorado’s Third District and the ongoing response, including dedicated work by the U.S. Forest Service. We discussed the federal resources needed to support impacted communities and those on the front lines.  My office will continue working with our federal, state, and local partners to help ensure Colorado and #CO03 has the resources and support needed to respond to these fires as safely and effectively as possible. @SecRollins

Today I spoke on the House floor to honor Emily Barker, Nick Hutcherson, and Sydney Watson, three wildland firefighters who gave their lives protecting Colorado. Emily came from Michigan. Nick from Arizona. Sydney from Alabama. They came from across our country to serve in Colorado, answering the call to protect communities they had never met. Wildland firefighters go where the fire goes: into the smoke, into the canyons, and into danger—so the rest of us can remain safe. Please join Barbora and me in praying for their families, their fellow firefighters, the two firefighters who were injured, and everyone continuing the fight this wildfire season. May their courage and sacrifice never be forgotten.

Today, I spoke with local, county, state, and federal officials, including Governor Polis, regarding the ongoing response to the fires across Western Colorado. I appreciate the close coordination among our local, state, and federal partners as they work to protect lives, property, and our communities. Our hearts remain with the families of the three firefighters who lost their lives, the two firefighters who were injured, and the entire wildland firefighting community during this incredibly difficult time. For the latest information on active fires and fire conditions, Watch Duty is a helpful public resource: app.watchduty.org/ For official evacuation, pre-evacuation, road closure, and emergency notices, please sign up for alerts from your local sheriff’s office and emergency management agency, and continue to follow their official updates.

I am saddened by the deaths of the three firefighters who were killed while responding to the Knowles and Gore Fires along the Colorado-Utah border. Wildland firefighting is among the most demanding and dangerous forms of public service. These brave men and women willingly put themselves in harm’s way to protect our communities, our public lands, and one another. My prayers are with the families and loved ones of those who were killed, the two firefighters who were injured, and the entire wildland firefighting community as they mourn this tragic loss. We are deeply grateful for the courage, service, and sacrifice of all who answer this call.
The U.S. Wildland Fire Service is devastated to share that three wildland firefighters lost their lives on Saturday, June 27, as part of an interagency response to the Knowles and Gore fires along the Colorado-Utah border. Additionally, two crew members were injured in the line of duty and have been transported to a hospital. Our immediate focus is on supporting their families, friends, and fellow crewmates during this incredibly difficult time. The U.S. Wildland Fire Service stands united with the USDA Forest Service in grief and in our unwavering support for the loved ones left behind. Their bravery, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Additional details will be shared as they are able to be released.

What makes a rural town grow? In Delta, it's small businesses, a thriving Main Street, outdoor recreation, and the public lands that bring visitors from across the country. But none of that happens by accident. I joined Delta County Commissioner Craig Fuller, Mayor Ron White, Council Member Janet Rowland, and local business owners to talk about how we can help Delta continue to grow. We discussed supporting Delta’s Main Street revitalization, expanding recreation opportunities, and ensuring reliable energy remains part of Delta's future.  When local leaders, business owners, and government work together, communities like Delta are well positioned to create jobs, attract investment, and build opportunity for the next generation. #CO03 #DeltaCounty

America needs more energy, not less, and #CO03 is uniquely positioned to help lead the way. Today, we have an opportunity not only to meet America’s growing energy needs, but to strengthen our allies, support innovation, create good-paying jobs, and reinforce our economic and national security. That was the focus of the JOLT Energy Summit in Grand Junction, where leaders from across the country came together to discuss how we can remove barriers to responsible energy development and unleash American ingenuity.  It was also great to welcome Karen Budd-Falen from the Department of the Interior to Colorado’s Third District. Together, we can help ensure Colorado remains a leader in responsible energy production for decades to come. #MesaCounty

Reliable, affordable propane helps keep Western and Southern Colorado moving. From powering irrigation pumps and drying crops to heating homes, fueling small businesses, and supporting ranching operations, propane plays an important role in communities across #CO03. It was great to meet with members of the Colorado Propane Gas Association, including Skotty and Audra Morris of La Jara, to hear firsthand about the opportunities and challenges facing the industry. Conversations with local business owners and energy producers help ensure the policies we pursue in Washington support the jobs, families, and rural economies that make Colorado's Third District strong.

Housing costs have made it harder for families, young professionals, and essential workers to live and work in the communities that keep Colorado’s Third District running. Met with members of the National Association of Home Builders to discuss how reducing unnecessary regulatory barriers, expanding housing supply, and supporting responsible homebuilding can help make housing more affordable across Western and Southern Colorado. A stronger housing market means a stronger workforce, healthier local economies, and more opportunities for families to put down roots in #CO03.

One of the best ways to understand our #CO03 economy is to talk with the people creating jobs. Thanks to Chamber of Commerce leaders from across Colorado, including the Grand Junction Area Chamber, for coming to discuss the challenges and opportunities Colorado businesses face.  Having worked at the Grand Junction Chamber and later served as Chairman of its Board, I know the important role Chambers play in supporting local businesses and economic growth. From workforce shortages and health care costs to energy and infrastructure, local leaders often see challenges long before Washington does. Hearing those perspectives helps make better policy. @ColoradoChamber @GJChamber

One of the best ways to support rural communities is to create more customers for the people who grow and raise our food. That’s why I introduced the bipartisan SPIRIT Act. The bill encourages small distillers to use American-grown agricultural products, helping strengthen markets for farmers while supporting domestic production and rural economic growth. Here’s the idea: when more American ingredients are used in American products, rural communities benefit. #CO03

Some of America’s air traffic controllers are still using technology from the 1980s. That’s why it’s great to see Grand Junction Regional Airport become the 100th tower in the country upgraded with a new digital Voice Communication System. As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I know modern infrastructure matters. Upgrades like this improve communication between pilots and controllers, strengthen safety, and help keep our aviation system ready for the future. From the Western Slope to the rest of the country, it’s good to see these long-overdue improvements taking off. ✈️ #CO03 #MesaCounty
🚨 A MAJOR AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL MODERNIZATION MILESTONE Today, the Grand Junction Airport tower in Colorado became the 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ air traffic control tower upgraded with a BRAND NEW digital Voice Communication System We’re replacing decades old analog systems with cutting-edge technology to supercharge communication between controllers, aircraft and ground facilities Modern skies are here ✈️

The biggest obstacle to building a stronger critical minerals supply chain isn’t a lack of resources. It’s a lack of certainty. America has the talent, capital, and natural resources to lead. What we need is a permitting system that is predictable, durable, and capable of getting projects built. That only happens when both parties are willing to work together on long-term solutions. #CO03 Thank you to the U.S. Chamber for the opportunity to speak at the Critical Minerals Summit.
Replying to @USChamber
.@RepJeffHurd emphasized the need for a bipartisan approach to streamlining the permitting process, saying it “requires Republicans, Democrats coming together, because when you have wildly shifting policies... it's not good. It does not provide that stability and predictability that allows for that capital investment that we need.”

Good fishing starts long before a line ever hits the water.  At the Pueblo Fish Hatchery, Colorado Parks and Wildlife raises millions of fish that support reservoirs, lakes, and rivers across the state. As Colorado’s only hatchery that produces both warm-water and cold-water species, it plays a critical role in sustaining recreational fishing opportunities and supporting the outdoor economy. I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the hatchery’s operations and the dedicated professionals who help support Colorado’s fisheries, outdoor recreation economy, and conservation efforts every day. #CO03 #ILovePueblo

Colorado Northwestern Community College is helping train the next generation of pilots and aviation professionals right here in Northwest Colorado. That’s why I was proud to help secure $643,000 for improvements at the Rangely Airport to support CNCC’s aviation program, strengthen airport infrastructure, and enhance wildfire response capabilities. This investment will expand opportunities for students pursuing careers in aviation while helping ensure rural Colorado has the workforce, infrastructure, and emergency response resources needed for the future. #CO03 #RioBlancoCounty

When most people think about public health, they think about hospitals and doctors. But local public health departments play an important role too. Met with Delta County Commissioner Craig Fuller and Public Health Director Jacqueline Davis to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing rural communities, from preventative care and family health programs to emergency preparedness. Appreciate their work and their commitment to serving Delta County residents. #CO03 #DeltaCounty

The question is no longer whether America needs a stronger critical minerals supply chain. The question is how quickly we can build one. I joined the U.S. Chamber’s Critical Minerals Summit to discuss one of the most important economic and national security challenges facing the country. Most people don’t think about critical minerals, but they are used in everything from military systems and power generation to advanced manufacturing, consumer electronics, and the technologies that keep our economy running. America should not have to depend on China and other foreign adversaries for materials that are essential to our energy security, economic competitiveness, and national defense. The good news is that we have the resources, workforce, and expertise to produce more of them here at home. Communities across #CO03 can help lead the way.

The best time to prepare for wildfire season is before the first major fire starts. With drought conditions affecting much of the West, I joined federal wildfire officials, fellow Colorado Congressman @RepJeffCrank, and other Western leaders at a discussion hosted by the @WestCaucusFound to talk about forest management, hazardous fuels reduction, and preparedness for the months ahead. For #CO03, wildfire affects public safety, water resources, local economies, and the health of our forests. Reducing risk starts long before smoke appears on the horizon.

Chris Thomas, CEO of Community Hospital in Grand Junction, visited Washington this week to discuss the future of rural health care. For many Western Colorado families, community hospitals are often the difference between receiving care close to home and traveling hours for treatment. We discussed ways to strengthen rural health care providers and ensure communities across the Western Slope continue to have access to quality care. As Congress works on health care policy, I will continue looking for practical solutions that help hospitals serve the communities that depend on them. #CO03 #MesaCounty

This Roll Call story highlights how legislation gets done. The Geothermal Energy Advancement Act began as several bipartisan efforts. By bringing six geothermal bills together into a single package, we were able to move meaningful legislation through the House and one step closer to becoming law. That’s how Congress is supposed to work: identify a problem, build a coalition, and keep moving solutions forward. Next stop: the Senate. #CO03 Check out the article here: rollcall.com/2026/06/03/cong…

Recently spent time in Pueblo visiting a few local institutions, including Southwest Grill, the Abriendo Inn, and Taffy’s Candy Shop. Each is different, but they share something in common: people willing to take a risk, build something of their own, and invest in their community. Small businesses help create jobs, support local families, and give communities their character. They’re part of what makes Pueblo such a special place. I appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from the people behind these businesses and learn more about the challenges and opportunities they see ahead. #ILovePueblo #CO03
