While shopping in Whole Foods today I politely declined the sample offered and kept going about my business until I heard the kind employee say to the next customer “and it’s seed oil free”. I immediately put my wheels into reverse not only to get a better look at the product but mostly because I heard someone helping bring awareness to seed oils out in the wild. I chatted with the nice woman for a few minutes and it really made my day.
There have been a good amount of followers asking for gf sof bread options lately so these might be good to try, made with coconut oil.

100% not mad with the way these old fashioned donuts came out. And the funny thing is I couldn’t eat a second if I tried. Cooking food in beef tallow is so much more satisfying than any other fat.

For years we have enjoyed Jovial as our dried option because we love the methods of production, the taste and the texture so I was excited to find out this is also made by them.
Of course making your own fresh is top tier but for those who need a quicker method to have on hand…

It is my intention with this thread to educate those avoiding seed oils on how sneaky “healthy option” restaurants can still be bad & hopeful that the food industry will catch on & make positive changes.

Tallow fried mozzarella sticks
You will need:
- low moisture block of mozzarella (whole milk is best if you can find it) to cut into strips or you can go the polly-o string cheese route if your heart desires.
- eggs & breadcrumbs for the crust (try making your own! I took some leftover sourdough and baked at 250 degrees until crispy then added to a food processor with salt & Italian seasoning.
- beef tallow for frying (great recommendation pictured below)
Cut your cheese into traditional log shaped sticks and dip each cheese stick into the whisked egg then cover in breadcrumbs. I repeated this step twice for each stick and packed it on to ensure coverage of the cheese.
Once all sticks are prepped, it is important to freeze for about 2 hours before frying.
When it comes time to fry you may have to adjust as you go and this is the part that will be slightly different for everyone. I added about 1 inch of beef tallow in a medium sauce pan (enough room to cook 2 at a time). I found medium heat was best once the tallow starts to slightly bubble but not smoke (around 200 degrees give or take).
Carefully add 2 sticks at a time to the pot and cook for about 2 minutes give or take on each side until desired color is achieved. If your sticks don’t start bubbling as soon as you add them to the tallow, it’s not hot enough.
We ate ours with marinara of course 😋

Side note, I am absolutely loving how companies are disclosing “no seed oils” on the front packaging but always remember to read the ingredients because one day it will be a psyop for marketing.
