Bootstrapping Liquity V2 $BOLD is on the horizon, but it's not the only stablecoin that will be powered by our V2 codebase. Liquity AG is issuing software licenses to teams who will unleash the industry's most robust CDP protocol across 15+ DeFi ecosystems.

It has been painful. I’ve been sitting on this tweet for a while. My first gut reaction to this tweet was how we tried. But I take this on the chin. Fact of the matter is, @divine_economy is right. The community is always right. The market is always right. There are a lot things I would’ve done different if I could go back in time. But we are here now. We have always been focused on good tech, open source contribution and tried our best for the community… Yet we did fail the community and we did fail to provide proper support to builders in the past. I want to be clear, that it is not that we didn’t care about builders or we didn’t try. We are learning. And in the past period, we were quiet, because we’ve been taking notes and learning from great communities like Solana. We are **radically** shifting our focus. 1. I moved to Malaysia because @ETHKL1 was one of our earliest communities that supported us (I still need to reach out to a lot of people, please forgive me, moving with 8 kids has been tough) 2. We’re focusing on the Global South and putting our money where our mouth is. Consistently I’ve been hearing feedback how it’s hard to raise capital and these talented founders need help. We’re going to help you (Eco-fund in coming) 3. In crypto we keep complaining about bad UX. We’re building a Scroll Wallet to fix this. 4. We’ve always been about the tech and we won’t lose our focus. We launched the OpenVM framework and we’re coming out with our next gen ZKVM to accelerate the performance of our chain, without compromising security 3. We’re backing great founders, like @tonyolendo and @rmdmac @jrcarlos2000 @Mehdi96_ through multiple initiatives, we want to see them succeed. We want to see them win. I want to do more community initiatives together with dope protocols like @jokerace_io Lets get this done @_emjlin @KhanAbbas201 I want to thank David, again…it’s been tough, but I felt a genuine intention behind this tweet. We will start going above and beyond to support our current builders and the new wave incoming. It’s going to be an uphill battle, but I’m bullish. We’re dedicated, committed and focused.

Here's why I'm so bullish @LiquityProtocol v2 and its decentralized stablecoin BOLD. BOLD will be the only stablecoin that offers max decentralization and max yield. It's totally censorship resistant, while earning roughly the same yield as stables on Aave. A first for DeFi. So how does it work? Liquity is immutable, with no governance, and only takes the decentralized collateral of (staked)ETH to mint BOLD. So BOLD has the same censorship resistance as ETH itself. Users pay interest to borrow BOLD from Liquity; this interest rate should converge with the market rate. Effectively, all this interest revenue is then paid to BOLD holders. So BOLD borrowers pay the prevailing market interest rate, and BOLD holders earn the prevailing market rate. To see why this max decentralization and max yield combo is so powerful, let's quickly compare BOLD to other stablecoins on the market. Ethena, MakerDAO / Sky, and Mountain all offer stablecoins will high onchain yield. This is at least an improvement on USDC! However, the cost of this high yield is that they're all completely centralized. Even DAI and USDe have a high percentage of backing in US Treasuries, despite claiming to be decentralized. Next there's GHO and crvUSD, which are only backed by onchain assets. So actually decentralized! Problem is, both of these stablecoins can be radically altered by governance at any time. Additionally, neither one can earn very high yield. It's true you can stake GHO for a good yield, but then it's 99% slashable and has a 20-day unstaking period. Not ideal. So that brings us back to BOLD. It's completely censorship-resistant and it will have a high yield that should converge with or exceed the Aave stablecoin deposit yield. When it launches, BOLD will fill a big gap in the stablecoin space and will likely become very big. Max decentralization. Max yield.
