Be on the look out for DIII NFL Draft Prospect Dwayne Ruby (@Quick6Wayne) as an UDFA Gem.
He shattered numerous Mount Union records over his career; in 2022 alone he put up 1785 REC YRDs on 105 REC for 30 TDs. Peaking in 2022 but certainly not a single year phenom. Putting up just north of 2900 RED YDs on 180 RECs over his last two year, is an extremely impressive feat regardless level of play.
He had shown flashes every year and has continued to improve him game. Even with limited film accessibility, #6 sticks out in every game watched. During the Covid season, in only four games, he put up 557 YRDS & 9 TDs. Reaching 100 YRD in every game that season, plus reaching career highs in a game 182 YDs / 4 TDs vs John Carrol. He never surpassed that yardage in a game, but did reach 4 TDs once more. This just shows his consistency each and every game to be a consistent 100 YD REC in a majority of his games.
This Division III WR is getting NO WHERE near the attention he demands. He is a consensus Top Three D3 WR Of-All-Time. For an NCAA D3 Career, he’s thirds is REC YRDs (5,624 TOT YD), third in RECs (362 Receptions), and second in REC TDs (74 TOT TD).
It would be shocking to hear his named called in the NFL draft as the talent this year even the UDFA area is loaded. However, I will not be shocked to see Ruby’s name on a 53-man roster come September. Perhaps too eager, but I would not mind a practice squad slot being filled by this
