Today, I held a meeting with officers from the KMP North Region, where I commended them for their unwavering dedication and professionalism in maintaining security and public safety. While acknowledging their commendable work, I reminded them that the task ahead requires even greater commitment. I urged all officers to remain focused, work as one team, and continue improving service delivery to the communities they serve. I further encouraged them to sustain intelligence-led disruptive operations against criminality while ensuring transparency and accountability during the screening of suspects. I emphasized that effective community policing is not a one-time activity but a continuous partnership built on trust, collaboration, and active participation between the police and the public. I also issued a firm warning against extortion, stressing that corruption has no place in @PoliceUg. Commanders were directed to take swift and decisive action against any personnel found engaging in such unethical practices. The meeting was attended by the Deputy KMP Commander, Heads of Departments at KMP, the Regional Police Commander (RPC) KMP North, Divisional Police Commanders, and OC Station and OC posts.

The suspects are believed to be part of a criminal network that has been impersonating His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, and Ms. Natasha Karugire, the President’s daughter, to defraud unsuspecting members of the public in different parts of the country. See more... upf.go.ug/police-arrest-six-…

We have taken note of information circulating on social media alleging that H.E. the President has appointed five Assistant Inspectors General of Police. For the record, the officers referred to in the circulating message were appointed in December 2024 and have since been serving in their respective capacities and executing their normal Police duties. The message currently being shared is old and misleading, as the Directors mentioned have now been in office for close to two years. We therefore urge the public to disregard the circulating information and rely on official communication channels for accurate updates.

CP Lawot Patrick Commandant PTS Kabalye "I am honored and pleased, at this juncture, to report that following the successful completion of rigorous training, the fears and uncertainties that often accompany such a demanding journey have been overcome, and the expectations of the training programme have been satisfactorily achieved. The trainees from the two courses graduating today are now fully equipped with the requisite knowledge, skills, attitudes, and professional values required to serve as Police and Immigration officers, ready to faithfully serve their Motherland, Uganda. More importantly, these graduates have been prepared to understand and appreciate that peace, security, and the rule of law are the bedrock of national development. They have therefore been trained to serve selflessly, uphold integrity, and make meaningful contributions towards the socio-economic transformation and prosperity of Uganda."

I reminded the graduates that discipline and integrity are the foundation of service. They must reject corruption, safeguard their health, and use modern tools such as forensic science, K9 units and CCTV to defeat crime. Security must also support wealth creation by protecting our people and ensuring every Ugandan joins the money economy. I wish them success as they serve Uganda with patriotism and dedication.
