from what I know, the original noli theme also had a mixed reception, you can even tell because if you go into the comments of the old noli theme now, theres people "apologizing" to that track, hinting at the fact that they didnt like that ost either

the game was probably programmed just to hold the original cast, so they most likely had to make many workarounds to add new movesets, and characters, and probably also overlooked a TON of bugs aswell
