In light of the devastating heavy rains that recently struck Korea, bringing over 110mm of rainfall per hour, landslides and floods have destroyed homes and roads in an instant.
More than 14,000 residents were forced to evacuate, and as of July 20th, 2,653 people are still unable to return home.
The damage has been especially heartbreaking in areas like Sancheong, Gyeongnam, which was also hit by wildfires earlier this March. Sadly, the disaster has claimed 18 lives nationwide.
OpenLedger have made donated a small contribution to support ongoing recovery efforts and to stand in solidarity with the people of Korea.
