🧪 Emerging technologies are transforming the chemical industry, creating new opportunities and new questions for chemical safety and security experts. The OPCW Scientific Advisory Board partnered with @IUPAC to bring together leading experts in Rome for a workshop on emerging technologies shaping the chemical industry. Participants explored advances including digitalised chemical production, electrochemical synthesis and flow chemistry, and discussed their implications for chemical safety, security and the implementation of the hashtag#ChemicalWeaponsConvention. By bringing together experts from across science, industry and government, the OPCW helps ensure that advances in chemistry continue to support the CWC’s goals.

From briefings on verification and inspection, to experiencing a day in the life of an OPCW inspector, the fellows explored how the Organisation advances its mission.
