Okayeg, so we invite you to discover the story of Okayeg.
Okayeg was drawn in MS Paint.
It was created by a Reddit user who was also part of one of Twitch’s biggest communities, belonging to the top streamer Forsen.
The community instantly embraced Okayeg as their mascot. Later, Forsen’s rival, xQc, also adopted Okayeg, and from there it spread across Twitch.
Okayeg is a frog obsessed with collecting eggs. A bit mentally off, but very friendly. Users often used it when joking about different accents.
In 2024, Okayeg appeared onchain on Base. It was first introduced to the 4chan community, known for its fanaticism and for pushing powerful coins into the spotlight. Okayeg holds special meaning there, as PEPE and APU were also 4chan-born frogs. Okayeg was presented as the third frog of 4chan, fulfilling a prophecy that all three would succeed. It’s in their DNA.
Like many projects on Base, Okayeg experienced a brutal crash, dropping over -99%. But the community didn’t fall apart. Old members stayed. They regrouped and reorganized.
Today, Okayeg is one of the leading communities on Base in terms of engagement. It’s a community proud to be made of raiders. Raiding is an art, but also a clear way to show how much you care about a project. If you’re not wearing the PFP and raiding every day, are you really helping your community?
Everyone wants engagement. Raiding brings the most of it.
Okayeg understands this and builds its community around that paradigm.
A few weeks ago, the Okayeg community found the original creator on Reddit. He wasn’t involved in crypto at all. The community helped onboard him to Base. He’s now a proud holder. We have his blessing and he loves what we’re doing with the frog he created.
Surviving a -99% drop and building one of the most fanatical communities on those ashes shows that Okayeg has evolved from a simple meme into a decentralized cult, and that’s the greatest value any project can achieve.
We’re fighting for decentralization in every aspect.
