We've prepared a fun little side-mode (enterable through purple elevators) you can play called TRICK OR TREAT, where you can eat Candy found in rooms to fill up the Candy Basket, but watch out: Candy has random effects, being either a trick or a treat!... or a little bit of both.
Eat 100 CANDY to gain a limited-time Achievement, lots of Knobs, and a Revive! Not a challenge for you? Eat 500 CANDY to get even more rewards & another limited-time achievement!

first recording of the figure rewrite:
figure was rewritten mostly so he could attack non-players
and as well to homogenize to use only one version, cause internally there were like 4 different figures that acted similarly but had small differences
update on this:
I’ve been able to use my fingers (with the exception of my thumb) fairly moderately
still not 100% but good enough with breaks in between

each 'is this rlly todays leak' results in his carpal tunnel lasting another minute

oh yeah as some players may have noticed, basements are randomly generated in DOORS
but this “randomly generated room” mechanic was also used in the mines for the water crawling room
as well in one of the new backdoor rooms
it is not exclusive to the hotel
its probably being affected by any other custom costs you may have, figure in particular was annoying about this
if not then its most likely caused by some weird time-gap where when you change a material it doesn't immediately update the cost to the default (1)
would love to know how this works!
does it support non 90 degree turns? is this brute-forced? does it use a maze solver?

I didn’t do much for the Ranked update as i was taking a vacation, but DungeonGen supported multi-floor generation since its conception and I was so happy to see it finally get some use!

here is a scrapped thing to make rooms interconnect with themselves! (unfinished so ignore intersections)
this was superseded by the chunk system that some rooms have, so having this became useless and was scrapped
i've been wondering for a while what is the longest possible death message you could make in doors
i think its
rush + vial + snare + hide sickness
but i imagine there is probably some longer ones maybe ?
oh yeah something to note, the wiki still says glitch acts as a failsafe whenever generation breaks
this hasn’t been the case since the Hotel+ update!
glitch only appears as a void replacement in subfloors, not for generation
he still shows up if you clip out of bounds though
oh yeah in the content update, various tools got rewritten, which besides New Entity, faster generation, and some art was the other only thing I actually got to do for the update
oh yeah like i mentioned, while i didnt get to make much new stuff for the DOORS update, i did lots of rewrites
that includes:
death message/goblino message system
entity systems
rush/ambush rewrite
figure rewrite
and some other ones too
also dupe fan(?)art i made right after splash added him to doors
i have a habit of just drawing all the new entities the moment they get finished just so i can say im technically the first one to ever make fanart of them

for those who don’t know, haste was originally designed like back in 2022; and was scrapped for the foreseeable future (different mechanics)
I was so happy when his design was decided to be used for The Backdoor
so i mentioned before that i really didnt like dealing with siderooms for dungeongen
i had to rewrite them 2 times for the mines update to add more features to them
Other than dungeongen, I am most proud of the dialouge system I had to make for floor 2!
it’s only used during death/goblino, but it is extremely customizable which makes me happy
I did so many rewrites for doors for the floor 2 update
I’ll probably talk about them some other time
but my contributions to floor 2 were mostly rewrites I didn’t make any “new” content
oh yeah I didn’t do much for this update other than various optimizations/memory improvements
but I did make the system to applies a random effect to a candy
splash made all the candy effects himself though
oh yeah dungeongen is incredibly fast when there aren’t any forced rooms;
dungeon gen is capable of generating 1000 mines rooms within .3 seconds
1000 hotel rooms in .1
and the rooms rooms in .003~
(rooms is a special case cause that’s just a straight line normally anyway)
really tried to make it look like the original since its been 3 years since ive drawn it
even made my own guide to see the differences between a skull and haste better lol
A-90 was originally based on the flowey monitor and the faces that appear in TLTs Drunk song
oh yeah and before he was called A-90 we just referred to the face as peter for some reason.
The versions in game are just monochrome, and mirrored.

I see tons of people reporting vacuum blocking doors in the backdoor, if this happens to you please get the seed! it can be seen at the top of the F9/console log!
oh yeah forgot to mention on the main post; but this video has an updated dungeongen, which makes it a bit faster! so whenever next patch comes out, room generation shouldn't be so annoyingly long!
