Sooo as someone who didn’t attend Twitchcon this is the recap I’ve gathered:
- Multiple females were sexually harassed and/or assaulted.
- Twitch didn’t provide proper security for ANYONE to feel remotely safe.
- IRL streamers were out of hand and ran the whole con with little to no consideration of their surroundings.
- Twitch skipped basic human decency such as disability/wheelchair assessable stages
- the only good part was people being able to see community members and friends but could have been done without pay $200+ ticket.

Streamers are NOT obligated to be friends with EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THEIR COMMUNITY. I wish I could, I love getting to know as many people as I can but being in my community does not make you entitled to my time and getting to know me outside of streams.
Streamers can be as sexual and flirtatious as they want or wear WHATEVER THE FUCK THEY WANT. It is NOT an open invitation to slide in their dms and demand their attention. 90% of the time I say sus shit or “flirt” in stream but it’s ALWAYS with people who I KNOW that have built trust by being in streams regularly, they know it’s just fun and not serious and you have to earn that trust. Period.
Streamers are ALLOWED to be private about their lives. We have lives outside of creating content and we have every right to protect that. I for one have been very private about certain aspects of my life since day one, and that will never change bc I will always chose to protect myself.
Supporting a streamers social media is amazing… but spamming likes and comments on every single post in a span of 5 minutes isn’t showing support: you’re spamming for attention. We aren’t dumb and see what you’re doing.

I had my drink spiked at the Dreamhack after party.
I wasnt planning on going public with it but maybe my story can help other woman in the future.
I had two shots and two drinks and then totally blacked out. I look back at videos from that night or hear stories and I cannot recall any of it. I wasn’t myself, could barely control my movement but I was lucky I had people who didn’t leave my side. The next day I just felt embarrassed like I over drank but realized soon with how sick I was and piecing together how many drinks I actually had… my drink was spiked at some point.
I thought I was careful. I only took drinks I saw being made. I never set my drink down. I stayed with friends. It just goes to show… when someone wants to do something shitty… they find a way and sometimes it’s someone you “trust” or a friend of a friend. Always trust your gut, do what you can to stay safe but most importantly, always remember it’s not your fault. 🫶
