What a race, hard to swallow the finish but so proud of what @mattdracing and @LFR95 have become. It takes a village and while we're on the small side, we about took down all the gladiators in the Coliseum last night.
I don’t even know where to start, thank you all so much for the support. I wanted to win so dang bad. The crowd reaction after the race absolutely broke me down and melted my heart. My entire team is so amazing and I’m lucky to have @MikeCWheeler as crew chief...he is THE BEST

Why we stayed out: 7 laps on tires, newest of anyone. P10 of 22 cars on the lead lap. Earlier in race with similar position, it was split who pitted vs stayed. And no one on tires drove to the lead. We were on the same page to stay. It didn't work out. And yes my head hurts.

@23XIRacing built a car and sent it to Japan a couple weeks back. Looking forward to heading to Fuji with a few colleagues to see how much they like @ToyotaRacing Nascar race cars.
Really fun that @kamuikobayashi will get to drive his NASCAR Cup car at Fuji Speedway during the Super Taikyu Final Round weekend in a couple of weeks.
Lots of other NASCAR machinery will be on display during the event along with some pit stop demos.

Frustrating day. O-ring on power steering pump blew out in stage 1. Part was serviced by mfg in off-season and dyno'd at our alliance partner in January. On top our car was dynod last week for multiple runs. Still failed and ruined our event. Chin up. Back to it tomorrow.

J.D. Gibbs wasn't only a great leader at JGR, he was one of the greatest people I've ever met and he spread that quality to many people he touched. I'll forever remember what he did for me and my career as well as his influence on others. Sad, but I know he's in a better place.

Day 1 at Fuji Speedway complete. @23XIRacing got the equipment unpacked and the car back running. All without batteries for tools as they are stuck in customs. The people were very friendly and many teams were helping with minor issues we had with supplies. Mount Fuji disappeared with the clouds but still a camera friendly day. Ready for track time tomorrow.
