This is absolutely incorrect that someone attempted to submit a ballot in the name of a dead voter. The voter legally submitted the ballot, but died before election day which under PA law requires the ballot to be voided. This story implies there was fraud when there is none.

The same will happen in PA next month. Voters will see in person election day results in the same time frame they've been reported over the years, but absentee/mail-in results will not be finished for a day or more since the law limits processing until after 8 p.m. Election Day.

Mercer County counting of absentee/mail-in ballots began this morning with more than a dozen workers helping. As of 5 p.m., 44 of 90 precincts and 4,139 ballots have been scanned. Scanning expected to continue through Friday before county moves onto 100's of provisional ballots.

At Thursday's Commissioners' Meeting, March 12-18 was recognized as Pennsylvania 4-H Week. Representatives from 4-H in Mercer County received the proclamation at the meeting. 4-H in PA is in all counties of the Commonwealth with 77,000 youth and serves 1,360 in Mercer County.

Brenni, we have addressed your concern. The individual was too close to the door to the polling room, our rover directed him to move outside the legal boundary and he has done so. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Brenni. It is not illegal as long as the campaign person is more than 10 feet from the polling room. They have a right to be there under the law and you have the right to refuse the information. Just politely walk on by. If the individual is impeding voting, we can send someone.

Today, the Commissioners hosted a press conference with @America250_PA for U.S. Semiquincentennial. The Commissioners announced Ann Coleman as the Appointee from Mercer County to the Advisory Committee. Bob Lark of the Mercer County Historical Society, will work with Ann.

Don't worry. It doesn't make our job more difficult to ensure your right to vote (although I'm sure a couple poll workers who have to deal with you personally might think otherwise.😄) But for us when it comes to voters, the more, the merrier.🏤

Mercer County counting of absentee/mail-in ballots finished at noon with all 90 precincts and 7,874 ballots added to the county totals at mcc.co.mercer.pa.us/election…. An additional 402 ballots were unable to be counted due to non-compliance with state election law. 1/
