I am disappointed with the way the Axon Bill has played out, culminating with the Governor signing this awful legislation—-without any discussion with representatives of #Scottsdale, knowing the impact it will have exclusively on our communities.

The voters have spoken and called for an election to determine the fate of the unwanted apartments. The legislature chose to ignore them and pass the bill anyway.

Mr. Kwasman’s hand-wringing hypocrisy is on full display in his nonsensical post, as he manages to perform the neat trick of being insulting and holier-than-thou in the same statement.
Despite his sanctimony, Mr. Kwasman usually prefers to do his backstabbing and threatening out of public view, as repeatedly demonstrated by his emails and texts accessible through public records. From his first day in office, with the utterly performative smothering of the right to public debate re: the sustainability plan, he has consistently sought to raise his profile at the expense of transparency and citizen input.
As far as his ridiculous claim that I misused “taxpayer funds and public time and resources” in sending a press release, the people have not only a right but a need to know what their elected representatives are doing, so they can decide whether or not they are satisfied and proud of their actions.

One of my key issues as your next mayor is to foster hospitality development by focusing on unique local experiences. A great example of this is the Andaz partnership with Alveole to reconnect people in cities with nature. The dishonest, toxic rhetoric being spewed deprives our council and our residents of a healthy and productive working environment and inhibits our ability to work together, cohesively, for the betterment of Scottsdale. If you have input or info about issues or concerns about what’s going on behind the scenes, I’d love to hear from you! I’m here to work hard for my fellow residents—not to be controlled by power seeking special interest bullies who hide behind their anonymous pals…shameful!

Justice in Motion 🚨
Today, I want to commend the @ScottsdalePD and our regional law enforcement partners for their swift and tireless efforts in bringing justice to the victims of the tragic double homicide that occurred on June 30 near 115th Street and East Sahuaro Drive.
Thanks to their dedication and coordinated investigation, three suspects—including 18-year-old Lebron Rogers and two juveniles—were arrested on July 29. Their work not only led to these arrests but also helped locate two missing juveniles and recover critical evidence.
To our officers, detectives, and crime scene specialists: thank you for your unwavering commitment to protecting our community and upholding justice. Scottsdale stands with you.
Our thoughts remain with the families of Ramon Moraga and Nadia Mysliwiec. May their memories be a blessing.
