My creatinine level is normal! Checking in at 1.17 today which is the best kidney function I’ve had in nearly two decades. I cried happy tears.
I should get unhooked from all of my tubes today and discharged tomorrow.

Trip will long be remembered for his spirit & passion. He reveled in his work & relished the limelight, taking great pride in his role as mascot.
Our fam is so grateful for all who loved and cared for him. We remember him fondly, while celebrating his spirited service to Butler.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved retired mascot, Butler Blue III, aka “Trip,” at the age of 12 after a brief illness. Trip’s jersey and portrait will be displayed in Atherton Union from Monday, April 8, through Sunday, April 14.

A year ago today (1/9/2020), my brother and I showed up to the hospital well before dawn and by afternoon, his kidney was functioning in my body. That evening was rough, but the next day I felt great and I’ve been pushing forward ever since. Modern medicine is truly amazing.

I’m told that when Trip saw that it was his brothers holding the bone, he didn’t come in as hot as he normally does. And in fact, he was reluctant to take it from them. No doubt because he knows he’s not supposed to touch their stuff. 🤣.

I know nothing about hockey, but I’m here for this. The Hurricanes had two goalies get injured and had to bring in an emergency backup goalie: a 42-year-old Zamboni driver. He played 28 mins, made 8 saves and won.
My favorite part: The guy is a kidney transplant recipient.
David Ayres earned the celebration after the 42-year-old Zamboni driver was pressed into action as the Hurricanes’ emergency backup goalie and got the win! 😯🔥

Creatinine dropped again to 1.08! Anti-rejection levels holding steady.

Family dog broke the news. Moving this summer. Will sure miss the unique experience of living on campus, but ready for the next chapter. My work commute stands to significantly increase if this work from home thing ever ends.

And now that he knows that there are magic water sprayers that come out of the ground at the baseball field, he’s going to try to pull me over there any chance he gets.
