President Trump has signed a new executive order making regenerative agriculture a federal priority.
The order directs agencies to expand investment in regenerative agriculture research and education, maximize funding for USDA’s Regenerative Pilot Program, promote precision agriculture, and encourage public-private partnerships.
It also calls for research into cumulative chemical exposures in the food supply, reviews of pre-harvest desiccation practices, and support for technologies that reduce reliance on conventional chemical crop protection tools.
The order states that these initiatives are to be carried out within existing statutory authority and do not themselves create new regulatory requirements.
