I’m really proud of how our guys fought this year. Especially the last few weeks. The outsider has no idea how much work we put in and how competitive it is. Every game is a dog fight. Congrats to everyone who made it in. It’s a huge achievement. I’m heartbroken for our seniors.

We use a lot of technology and we collect a lot of data. None of it matters without a group of humans who are able to organize, visualize and analyze the data. Nobody is better than the @UIBASEManagers. There’s a reason why 5 MLB orgs have hired our people in the last two years.

This Fall, I asked our pitchers to predict their workload everyday after throwing. After comparing the predicted to the actual workload, you can see that their average error reduced over time. I'm convinced that tracking workload helps them become more intuitive throwers.

Brett was offered the Air Force ROTC Commander scholarship today! He accepted and will be attending the University of Iowa, studying Engineering in the Fall. So proud.

Coaches coach between plays, regardless of sport. Some sports have longer breaks between opportunities. Some shorter. It’s been this way for a long time. The only thing that is changing is the way that the plays/pitches are getting called into the players.

I put my Dad on the plane today. When I got home I saw that he made a bunch of fresh bread for us, washed his sheets and towels and made his bed. And he made biscuits every morning and dinner every night while he was here! What a rock star!

2022 Recap: Abbie graduated with degree in biochemistry from Augustana University and played her last softball game. They were NSIC champs and won the conference tourney. She started Medical School at Iowa and is doing awesome.

Another perspective is that USC and UCLA in the B1G could bolster support for baseball. Combined with the boost in revenue, it could shift some influence from the south to the north. Could help with moving start of season back which would be good for college baseball.
The beauty of Big Ten administrators like Gene Smith, Gary Barta and Warde Manuel is that the league will make $7 Billion over the course of this deal and will STILL act like they don't have money for more coaches. Just wait and watch. Can't wait.

We found this little stinker after she was lost for two nights in the wilderness. She got spooked by fireworks, pulled away from us and ran into the woods. Susie and Brett found her several miles away. What a lucky little pup. She has an apt. to get a tracking chip this week.

I'm still buzzing about @UNISoftball 's performance last night. In 10 innings, our pitchers gave up no runs and the offense had 10 home runs, 4 doubles as part of their 25 hits. Here's some video from the offense last night.
