Amouranth stream recap:
• Doggos are safe
• She has control over her accounts/finances again
• Husband is out of picture getting help
• She is seeking legal counsel + therapy
• Cameraman (Marzbar) is leeching
• She's going to take it easy, still processing
Viewers, just because you can't afford to stay subbed to a streamer doesn't mean you have to hide! It's sad to see people disappear after they cancel a sub. I promise you 99% of streamers would love to have you as a chatter no matter what.
After meeting with Twitch President Dan Clancy at TwitchCon, IRL streamer Jakenbake said, "I don't feel confident as a streamer on the platform with someone who is that out of touch..."
"I walked away feeling, like, depressed."
Other notes:
• Said she's excited to wear clothes again, and be able to watch TV
• Also excited to be able to sleep more than 3-5 hours
• Wants to do content she wants to do, more stuff with animals
This poor woman was imprisoned for so long, I hope she is truly set free.
Twitch's new Partner Plus program is going to benefit...
1000 streamers 😐
out of 42,000+ Partners. Out of MILLIONS of streamers. This is a performative announcement.
ALT How many streamers are eligible for the Partner Plus program? 2.5% of 42366 active Twitch Partners or 1,066. Credit to Streamscharts.com for the data.
Nick Mercs spending more energy on hating Trans folks over his buddy being a predator tells you everything you need to know about his real values.
It was never about protecting kids. It was about spreading hate. And that's why we call it a "dog whistle".
ALT A tweet from Nick Mercs: "Banned for using the word "Tranny" on Twitch. Apparently that's a derogatory term. That's on me. Next time I'll use mental health disorder.
Square Enix is providing a separate, DMCA-safe E3 presentation feed for streamers. This is how you look out for content creators, bravo 👏
ALT As part of the all-digital E3 2021, you have hopefully seen already that we’re doing a Square Enix Presents Summer Showcase this Sunday, June 13 at 12:15 PT / 20:15 BST on our YouTube, Twitch, and supporting partner channels.
I am also happy to let you know today that we have been working on a DMCA free/safe version for content creators to be able to use, that reworks or removes licenced tracks that might cause a copyright concern in your co-stream. We’ll be sharing that link on Friday/Saturday, and it will be a link to a YouTube premiere. Then you have the option of using the normal stream (with licenced tracks) like normal, or our DMCA safe version, when doing co-streams.
She expressed multiple times how grateful she was of the people who reached out to her, the messages of support she has received. She said she didn't think anyone would really care. She said she felt so alone for so long and wish she had done something sooner. 💔
1/ ADL spoke with the @Twitch staff today after becoming aware of several concerning incidents on the social media platform platform and/or involving Twitch streamers in the past week. 🧵
Wow MAJOR Twitch news for Partners! Twitch has removed the exclusivity clause so that streamers can stream on other platforms!
ALT Starting today, you are now allowed to create live content on other platforms. This means that you have more flexibility to explore how to use different, off-platform features to further build your community and interact with streamers off Twitch.
When we first developed the Partner Program, we felt it was important for streamers to focus solely on Twitch for live streaming to build their communities. We still believe that Twitch is the best place for creators to build and engage with their community. We also recognize that the digital landscape has changed since we first introduced the Partner Program and that many of you engage with your communities in many different places. So, we are updating our policy. We will no longer be enforcing this portion of your agreement and will be updating terms early next year.
ALT Two women glow in the golden sunlight of sunset. Lowco holds Christie and dips her, the two are wearing long white wedding gowns with ornate beaded and sequined appliques. They are beaming at each other and looking lovingly into one another's eyes
ALT Lowco and Christie smile softly and embrace while wearing their wedding gowns and veils
Streamers, PayPal has recently increased its transaction fees. A $1 tip will now only net you $0.48. That's right, less than half of a $1 tip actually goes to you.
Please be aware of this when setting tip goals and checking revenue reports!
Twitch is targeting viewers using ad blockers by running frequent ads in an attempt to annoy them into submission. You'll have to disable your ad block to stop these otherwise they'll run every ~10 minutes.
NEW TWITCH TOOL: Shared Bans.
Starting today, you can trade ban lists with other streamers that will automatically mark users as Suspicious or Restricted if they are banned in the other person's channel.
Twitch has moved their simulcasting rules to the Terms of Service, which I believe means it now applies to ALL users, not just Affiliates and Partners.
Those that revoked their Aff/Partner to stream to Twitch and YouTube at the same time are no longer allowed.
ALT When you are streaming live on the Twitch Services you may not simultaneously live stream or broadcast (“Simulcast”) on any other “Twitch-like Service,” meaning any web-based network, platform, or service that supports live streaming of user generated content, without advance written permission from Twitch. For clarity, you may Simulcast on mobile-first services that support live streaming. This Section does not apply to non-profit or government entities that are live streaming for non-commercial purposes.
MASSIVE TWITCH UPDATE: Twitch is experimenting with a whole new way to browse streams. This looks to be a *game-changer* for the viewer experience and a big win for smaller creators!
Here's what it looks like and why I think it's so good ⬇️
TwitchCon is full of surprises, yet there’s no bigger surprise than a proposal right here at #TwitchConVegas!
Congratulations @LowcoTV and @christieskylar! 💜
💜 How it started How it's going ❤️
🏳️🌈 Happy #Pride 🏳️🌈
ALT Twitter DM between Lowco and Christie Skylar:
"I think I need to unfollow you now" - Lowco
"What?!? I'm appalled" - Christie
"You missed the biggest event of my life. I brought you tacos and ice cream." - Lowco
"How can I make it up to you" - Christie
"Buy me a drink" - Lowco
ALT Lowco and Christie both wearing periwinkle blue dresses. Christie has her arm around Lowco and is kissing her passionately on the cheek. Lowco is smiling with her eyes closed, happier than ever.
Woman streamers having boobs = disgusting, pathetic way to get EZ views, invalidates you as a gamer, streamer, and human being
Male streamers being toxic, misogynistic, racist = “funny”, “it’s just a character”, “you don’t get it”
Ninja is streaming on Kick.
Twitch just added the simulcasting to web-based platforms ban to their ToS, making it apply to ALL streamers. He had revoked his Twitch Partner to simulcast everywhere. Now, he is choosing every platform except for Twitch.
That's Twitch's loss.
Twitch really needs to get rid of forced pre-roll ads. At least give us the option to turn it off. It’s such a negative viewer experience. Why would viewers want to try discovering new channels if they have to sit through an ad each time? Not to mention it’s janky.
TWITCH UPDATE: Pinned Channels! Pin up to 3 channels to the top of your sidebar so you can jump to your favorite streamers easier! Available now for some users.
Heads up, especially creators, the new X feature to accept calls is turned on and it REVEALS YOUR IP ADDRESS by default!
Apparently we are back in the Skype era. Make sure to at least turn on call privacy.
ALT X/Twitter settings to allow audio and video calls. You can choose who to allow calls from (people in your address book, people you follow, verified users. A toggle for enhanced call privacy is turned off with the description, “enable this setting to avoid revealing your IP address to your contact during your call”
Twitch is introducing a new tool called Guest Star, a way for streamers to invite any Twitch user onto their stream with audio, video, and screen sharing capabilities!
Brands - don't do this, ever.
Creators deal with actual delusional parasocial viewers and some become stalkers.
This email was extremely triggering.
ALT
Dear lowco,
I hope this email finds you well. I'm writing to you today because I've been a fan of your Twitch channel for a while, and I love the engaging content you create for your viewers.
However, I'm a little disappointed that I haven't heard back from you about our collaboration opportunity with REDACTED yet.
I understand you might be busy, so we've devised a unique way to catch your attention. We've decided to become your Secret Admirer!
That's right - we've been watching your channel and are still very interested in collaborating with you. We believe that our product, REDACTED, would be an excellent fit for your audience and could provide them with great value.
Please let us know if you're interested in going on a date with us. I'm excited to hear back from you!
Twitch's Hype Chat is not a true 70/30 split. They take an initial 5% fee (MUCH higher than average transaction fees) & then 30% of what's left.
Meanwhile, YouTube covers all transaction costs.
This is a huge cut and I can't see why any streamer would want to use this.
ALT From Twitch FAQ: What is the Hype Chat revenue share?
Hype Chat's revenue share is 70/30 of net revenue. There is a 5% fee on web purchases to cover transaction costs. YouTube: Creators receive 70% of Supers revenue that is confirmed by Google. The 70% is calculated after local sales tax and App Store fees on iOS are deducted. Transaction costs, including credit card fees, are currently covered by YouTube. According to Forbes, the average credit card processing fee ranges between 1.5% and 3.5%.
Literally had a bro dude sleep on stream for a week and become the most subscribed streamer of all time but please keep talking about how talentless women streamers are
The levels of damage a social media manager can do to a Brand, especially when you antagonize someone who could've been a strong collaborative partner.
ALT A recent tweet from StreamLadder: Viewers really underestimate their value as a chatter.
If you’re actively chatting in a stream you are making a streamer’s day!
It’s powerful!!. Matches nearly identical to a tweet LowcoTV had posted in 2021.
ALT A tweet from StreamLadder: "Stop doing subathons! Start doing streamathons instead. Emphasize tipping and donating through third party sites with better cuts/splits." matches near identical to a tweet Lowco had posted one month ago in June 2023.
Twitch is replacing the "Mature Content" toggle with detailed labels to better classify streams.
Streamers must accurately label their content to avoid warnings. After July 20th, failure to accurately label your stream with repeated warnings will lead to locked-in labels.
ALT Available soon in the Stream Info section of your creator dashboard: content classification. Mature-rated Games
Sexual Themes
Drugs, Intoxication, or Excessive Tobacco Use
Significant Profanity or Vulgarity
Gambling
Users on Twitch can cancel a sub within 10 minutes, get a full refund, and the streamer will not receive any money.
I feel like, if you're unsubbing within *10 minutes*, you're probably doing it to troll and abuse it. What do you think about this?
It is absolutely disgusting how some streamers treat viewers, even regular community members.
Trauma dumping or not, this person did not deserve to get lectured at like this. Especially if, you know, your mom died.
I know that I’m also in the wrong a little for saying “well my mom died” in a stream after being asked where have I been but the response just isn’t it fam…I made a tweet longer thingy to share a little background but here ya go..
twitlonger.com/show/n_1ss6sl…
Military recruitment does not belong on Twitch. There are so many young, impressionable children that use the platform. It’s gross to see Twitch Rivals officially sponsored by the US Army.
Twitch CEO Emmett Shear resigning and locking his post so no one can respond is exactly on point with how he acted as the leader of Twitch: completely disconnected from the community and creators.
Incredible news for creators! YouTube is lowering the requirements to be eligible for monetization!
👥 500 subscribers (instead of 1000)
⬆️ 3 Public uploads in 90 days
👁️ 3000 watch hours in the last year OR 3M Shorts views in 90 days
💰 Unlocks paid memberships and fan-funding
A streamer I knew prevented their closest friend from overlapping too much on their stream schedule.
Eventually their friendship ended so the friend started streaming earlier in the day since it was better for his schedule.
His viewership more than tripled.
I’ve seen more uproar about streamers getting “bullied” for playing Hogwarts than for the very real and ever increasing threat to erase Trans lives from existence.
Gentle reminder for viewers to avoid doing these in someone's chat:
1. Talking about what another streamer is currently doing
2. Asking a streamer in chat when they are going to stream
3. Letting everyone know you're leaving to watch someone else
If it’s bad for creators and bad for Twitch then why on Earth would you implement it in the first place?
That makes 0 sense
ALT A tweet from Twitch: “Yesterday, we released new Branded Content Guidelines that impacted your ability to work with sponsors to increase your income from streaming. These guidelines are bad for you and bad for Twitch and we are removing them immediately.”
I think most of us agree TwitchCon Vegas felt very positive in a way that hasn’t been felt in some time.
But also we are positive we don’t want TwitchCon to be in Vegas again. Lol
It's not just Activision. You can boycott Activision, sure. But this culture is rampant across the games industry and beyond. It's probably in your workplace. It's happened within and on Twitch.
Open your eyes, SPEAK UP if you see something.
Twitch users: AVOID subscribing or buying Bits through the Twitch mobile app. Main reason: it's much more expensive. It seems like a lot of people don't realize this!
Streamers, we are entering an economic slowdown that may noticeably impact your subs, tips, and sponsorships! It is critical to tread carefully and prepare for the worst.
🧵 Here's some tips:
To all the sad incels wasting time in my replies saying I’m so “angry” and “butthurt” I hope your mind is at ease knowing I’m on vacation and haven’t spent more than a few minutes calling out a sexist company. It was actually quite easy.
Ty for the engagement though ☺️✌🏻
Three months ago, I started working with a streamer as their mentor.
Three months ago, they were averaging 30 viewers. Today, they have 300. Pretty cool!
Hey, TwitchCon is soon and I just wanted to say: please don’t quiz me on if I remember your name or not. It puts me on the spot and makes me feel terrible if I can’t remember. Always reintroduce yourself to be on the safe side 🙂
Streaming is a REAL job. It's just not a traditional one. We don't get health insurance, vacation days, lunch breaks, or a steady salary. But the work creators do and long hours spent doing it is very real.
I’ve never understood the idea that celebrities somehow aren’t allowed to vocalize an opinion on political or social issues.
“Stick to acting” says layperson who definitely isn’t a politician either and probably has opinions on things other than their own job.
Ofc. There were people watching her cry last night and still said these things. Unfortunately there will always be low-life scumbags that never believe women.
With Twitch putting a HUGE emphasis on clips and clip discovery, it's so important for streamers to have clips made of their stream.
Here are 10 ways to get more clips from your stream ⬇️🧵
This is the most unhinged business email I've ever received as a creator
ALT Greetings Lowco,
I wanted to introduce myself in a way that showed I was interesting, witty, and clever. Alas, I wrote this email instead.
Hey, I'm REDACTED *waves professionally*
I'm an influencer manager, which is why you're now regretting opening this email and are seriously toying with the idea of deleting it without a second thought.
Before you do that, you should be informed that if you make it to the end of this email, there will be a picture of a baby goat waiting for you. Don't cheat! it'll be worth it, I promise!
Let me get right down to it. REDACTED is an esport and gaming company based in London.
I'm reaching out about some campaigns we have.. etc
You can check out some of our streamers' campaign clips here: REDACTED. Is this something you'd be open to chatting about, or am I completely off base here?
Consider my fingers, toes, and other appendages crossed.
I await your profanity-filled response.
Affiliate Program RED FLAGS:
🚩 Say "sponsorship" or "ambassadorship" but only give a discount code
🚩 Ask you to buy the product first
🚩 Require deliverables like panel image, shoutouts
🚩 Lose earned $ if you don't reach payout in time
🚩 Move goalposts to not fulfill promises
I don't understand how a longtime viewer can turn so negative when a streamer does a sponsored stream. Calling someone a "sellout" for wanting to pay the bills and continue making the content you're watching for FREE is peak hypocrisy.
In an ironic twist, one of Pokimane's VPs at her management company, RTS, has been criticizing streamers for deliberately breaking DMCA while Pokimane herself was just suspended for doing the same thing.
They've since deleted the tweets and locked their account. Oof
ALT Tweet from djWHEAT: A real management team would be putting a stop to anything that could jeopardise their client's career and ability to make money. Anything less and you are under bad management. Reply from Cristian Tamas: I was thinking the same the other day and how it's mind boggling these high tier content creators are willing to risk their very substantial livelihoods on this madness. It makes no sense to me.
ALT Tweet from Cristian Tamas: So all in all I cannot explain the current trend of content creators doing this, it's bonkers how lax they seem about it. Maybe they know something we don't? Or maybe we/ll see another meltdown similar to previous the music DMCA stuff. Time will tell.
ALT So this is not coming from a place of hate, im just curious, you work for a creators agency RTS which is co-founded by Pokimane who got banned by exactly this. Do you have insight that you can share on this topic from RTS perspective?
ALT Cristian Tamas (@trancez0r) has protected their Twitter account
Huge news! Twitch is expanding sponsorship opportunities for streamers. Now streamers can submit a Creator Profile to be seen by potential brand partners.
I'm 30 today! I've spent the majority of my 20s streaming and building my career, what an incredible journey it has been! I am so appreciative to still be here and be supported by friends, peers, and viewers, to do what I love. I feel like my 30s will be even more fulfilling 💜

Had a company lowball me + double down on the offer "based on my viewership". I replied their offer was below industry standards and there are other valuable factors besides CCV.
They haven't replied, but today I got an offer from another brand for 10X more.
KNOW. YOUR. WORTH!
This is absolutely atrocious Twitch.
Especially at a time when so many creators are struggling, sponsorships are critical. How dare you try to restrict streamers from making a living. You talk about wanting to grow the pie but it's clearly just your pie, not that of creators.
Twitch has new Branded Content Guidelines.
- On-stream logos are limited to 3% of screen size.
- Burned-in video Ads are NOT allowed.
- Burned-in Display Ads are NOT allowed.
- Burned-in Audio Ads are NOT allowed.

Affiliates can now qualify for a 70/30 split on Twitch!! Huge!
ALT We are allowing Affiliates to qualify. When the Partner Plus Program launched with qualification set at 350 points, it made sense for the program to be Partner-only, as just about every streamer who would qualify was a Partner. With the lower thresholds, more Affiliates can qualify, and they deserve to be rewarded for the support of their communities
Honored that Twitch has invited me to their office for an exclusive event to chat with execs.
Only to see they won't even cover travel expenses 😬
I feel very valued
ALT In this first picture, a pop-up saying: You're invited to an exclusive IRL event at the Twitch LA Office with Twitch Executives, Product leaders, and Partnerships staff! Click to RSVP by 12/15!
In the second: Please note that Twitch will not be covering lodging or travel for this event. If you are based in Southern California or will be traveling to the area, we invite you to join us and would love to welcome you for this event.
