Donald Trump really just had the police fire tear gas and rubber bullets at peaceful protestors in Washington D.C. to clear the streets for a photo op at a church he doesn't attend with a book he's never read that teaches lessons he doesn't preach. Unbelievable.

It’s actually so sad to see the Mavericks organization crumble. Ejecting passionate fans last night. Jason Kidd refusing to speak postgame. No medical update on Anthony Davis, the injured player you just acquired for your 25-year-old face of the franchise. Just disgraceful. Dirk Nowitzki making it known he was in LA to watch Luka Doncic’s Lakers debut feels a lot like a statement against this new Dallas regime that has ruined everything for that incredible fan base.

The NBA has to better educate fans and media on what is and isn’t a travel. This play is unquestionably legal: James Harden gathers the ball then takes only two steps. The misunderstanding of the rule and the misinformation creates a negative perception of the game and its stars.

NBA 2K ratings are too high, period. It is mind boggling how there are well over 100 players ranked above 80. And almost everyone is above a 70. The scale needs to be made larger so players are rated in the 50s or even the 40s. Make having a rating over 90 mean something again.

Acquiring Russell Westbrook is one of the biggest mistakes in the history of the Lakers. Dumping him with a protected first for this haul of three players might just save their season. Jarred Vanderbilt provides excellent defensive versatility, connective passing, and solid spot-up shooting. He can play next to Anthony Davis or serve as a small ball 5 with LeBron James at the 4. Malik Beasley has been one of the NBA’s best shooters. This makes up for losing Malik Monk and whiffing on Buddy Hield. D’Angelo Russell will not need to change in dramatic ways like Russ did to fit. LeBron’s guards are always empowered to score. He just needs to know when to defer to LeBron. It’s surprising the Lakers were able to make these acquisitions for the price.

Aaron Gordon shows how situation plays a big factor in success. Gordon had 5 coaches in 7 years with the Magic and wasn’t used in a role emphasizing his feel as a cutter or screener. Nuggets plug him in an ideal role, it works right away, and he still has skill for huge nights. Game 4: 27 points 6 rebounds 6 assists +29 in 42 minutes After accepting a limited role all season next to Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray it’s so awesome to see him get chances to flourish on-ball when the matchup demands it—like in Game 1 and again tonight—rather than on a frequent basis like he did for the Magic. Gordon said this series he doesn’t care about credit, he just wants to win. But he deserves all the credit in the world as a key reason why Denver is on the verge of a championship.

Interesting comment. Paul George finished 33% of his total plays using the pick-and-roll, which was a career-high. The prior high was 25% in OKC, via @SynergySST stats. That’s very different from a Ray Allen or JJ Redick style role.
Paul George on his struggles in Doc Rivers' system: "Doc was trying to play me as a Ray Allen or a JJ Redick, all pin-downs. I can do it, but that ain't my game. I need some flow, I need some mixes of some pick-and-roll, and post ups...That last season was hard." @SHOsports

What a collapse by the Bucks. Awful half court offense with too many stagnant post ups. Giannis took some goofy pull ups. Awful coaching by Budenholzer—not using the timeout, not keeping Lopez in to protect the rim on the game-tying lob, and so many tactical choices. Why didn’t Khris Middleton get regular front court touches late in the game? Why didn’t Giannis set a high ball screen? They did nothing to get Giannis going downhill, instead just feeding the post. And then no timeout on the final play of overtime??? Budenholzer really let Grayson Allen run out the clock??? UNFORGIVABLE!
