Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetadhipati Jagadguru Pujyashri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji gave Sanyasa Deeksha to Sri Duddu Satya Venkata Surya Subrahmanya Ganesha Sharma Dravid at Shri Kamakshi Ambal Devasthanam in Kanchipuram on the banks of the Pancha-Ganga pond in the early hours of 30th April - the auspicious day of  Budha (बुध) - Rohini- Akshaya Tritiya. The new Acharya was given the deeksha name as ‘Satya Chandrashekarendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji’. The pre-sanyasa rituals commenced early at around 5 am. Pujyashri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi #Shankaracharya Swamigal walked from Shrimatam and arrived at the Kamakshi temple around 5.30, accompanied by mangala vadyam, vedic chanting and devotees. A grand reception was accorded with Poornakumbham at the temple entrance, and the skies of Kanchi reverberated with the sound and lights of crackers. The stage was set at the Mangala Vinayaka Sannidhi on the banks of Pancha-Ganga teertham in Kamakshi temple. Pujya Acharya arrived at the stage and the Sanyasa Sweekarana Mahotsavam commenced. Sri Ganesha Sharma Dravid, had Snanam in Pancha-Ganga teertham, and amidst recitations of mantras for renunciation was blessed with Kashaya vastra, Danda, Kamandala, Asana and was given Mahavakya upadesha by His Holiness. A Sudarsana Salagrama was placed on the young swamiji’s head and abhishekam was performed with a conch. Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamiji then gave a powerful message to all of the world in 5 different languages and blessed the young Acharya with the deeksha title as “Satya Chandrashekharendra Saraswathi”. It was a momentous and joyous occasion for the thousands of devotees all across the temple campus and the pond - to have the darshan of both the Acharyas together. Chants of “Sri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji ki Jai” and “Sri Satya Chandrashekarendra Saraswathi Swamiji Shankaracharya ki Jai” filled the air. The Mangala Vadyams, and the spectacle of colourful fireworks added gaiety to the occasion. His Holiness accompanied by Pujyasri Satya Chandrashekarendra Saraswathi Swamiji proceeded to the main sanctum of Sri Kamakshi Ambal Temple, where visesha pujas were performed, followed by pujas and offering of Parivattams and prasadams at Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya Sannidhi. Both Acharyas walked in procession from the temple to Sri Shankara Math, accompanied by a large number of devotees, and with poornakumbhams and swagatam being offered enroute. At Shrimatam, after Sri Chandramouliswara Swami Puja darshan and prayers at the Adhistanams of Pujyashri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Mahaswamiji and Pujyashri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal, prasadams from various adhistanams of Purvacharyas, and from temples of Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and other states were offered by priests and representatives. The Governor of Tamilnadu Sri RN Ravi and the First Lady, Chief Justice of Madras High Court Sri K R Shiram, Former MP Sri Subramanian Swamy and various eminent persons from different walks of life participated. Devotees from across the globe witnessed the events. Live webcast and broadcast in various Media enabled virtual darshan for those who could not make it in person. *Darshan at Tirumala - 5/6/25* On the holy Ganga Dashahara day, His Holiness Pujya Shri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal & His Holiness Pujya Shri Sathya Chandrashekharendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal visited Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple at #Tirumala and had Darshan. Kanchi Acharyas first visited Swami Pushkarini Teertha, then had darshan at Sri Varaha Swamy Sannidhi and later proceeded to temple. It may be recalled that Swami Pushkarini Teertha is the ancient border of Kanchi - Thondaimandalam and all ancient Shiva temples within the area have Kamakshi Amba as consort ( Ex: Kamakshi Amba Sametha Kapileshwara Swamy). After Darshan at Ananda Nilayam, Their Holiness returned to Srimatam Camp at #Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, Maha Paduka Mandapam, Alipiri, #Tirupati. #kamakoti

Having had his upanayanam at the age of five, Sankara was sent to a local patasala for studying the Veda. One forenoon, during his rounds for collecting biksha (alms), Sankara happened to stop in front of a poor man's house and uttered the usual word of request for biksha -"Bhavati bikkshamdehi". The lady of the house came out and saw the lustrous little brahmachari. She went in and searched for something for offering to the boy. But there was nothing in the house to offer. She picked up a dry amla fruit and dropped it in Sankara's bowl. The boy looked at the woman and noticed the lines of poverty and sorrow writ large on her face. He began singing the praise of Sri Mahalakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth, in fine Sanskrit verses. And lo! Mahalakshmi stood above the house. Sankara requested the Goddess to provide the means for the livelihood of the inmates of that house. The Devi caused a shower of gold amalakas on that house. The eighteen verses of Sankara's prayer to Lakshmi go by the name "Kanakadhara Stotram". This very first poem of Sankara breathes with his compassion and concern for the poor and the needy. #kamakoti #adishankaracharya
