Serving British soldier whose young son was dying of cancer. Both he and his sons needs put beneath Afghan migrants. This scandal is much bigger than we’ve been told:
“I served for 22 years and 2 years ago, I separated from my wife and had to move out my army house into a single room on camp and 6 weeks later my son got diagnosed with a rare cancer. During his treatment I he had to be 30 minutes away from his designated hospital, due to the risk of him getting an infection we could get him to hospital and get him on antibiotics due to the risk of him getting sepsis. I got told the nearest house I could get was 1 hour away which was no help. So I took a walk around our military estate and there were about 70 empty houses. So when I had to hand over my army house to my ex wife, I asked the housing officer about the vacant housing and told her about my son and she told me that the houses were for the Afghan migrants. So I then said “ as a serving soldier with a son with a rare cancer they have more priority over my situation” and she said “ yes”. I took me over 5 months to get a house and 2 weeks later my son passed away from his cancer. I have never felt so betrayed and let down by an organisation, they robbed me of precious time with my son and I will never get that time back”
