Congratulations Jason Kelce on an incredible career!
"When [the Rams] are healthy, they can win the whole thing. ... If you're Detroit or if you're Philadelphia, you better pray that this offense doesn't get into the playoffs."

How many games did the Eagles lose with Nelson Agholor dropping passes. I've got no sympathy for the Chiefs. Hire guys without boxing gloves for hands maybe.

If you all can't see why A.J. Brown is frustrated and voicing it, I don't know what to tell you. He's out there running wind sprints for three hours as the team struggles to put up points, running the same routes over and over and over again. You'd be frustrated too.
So Ricardo Pinto is stuck in the commute from hell, doesn't get to the park until the 4th inning, immediately goes into the game in the 6th, pitches the final four innings in the coldest, wettest conditions allowable in his first MLB appearance in 5 years.
Get me a jersey.
Kyle Schwarber went from being the coldest hitter on the planet to having one of the greatest slugging days in the 140 year history of the franchise.
Baseball is a totally normal game.
The Eagles got smoked by Tampa last year, but I had forgotten that they played that game without A.J. Brown or Devonta Smith, and it was before Cooper DeJean was inserted into the lineup. Their receivers were Jahan Dotson, Parris Campbell, John Ross and Johnny Wilson.
What the Phillies lineup tonight should look like:
DH-Schwarber
SS-Turner
1B-Harper
RF-Castellanos
C-Realmuto
LF-Wilson
2B-Stott
3B-Bohm
CF-Marsh
If you're gonna lose, lose with your best guys. These are the nine best guys right now.
I think we should talk a lot about Trea Turner's walk with 2 out in the 9th ahead of the Harper walk and Castellanos hit, because it showed the plate discipline we NEED from Turner in the playoffs.
The Phillies got all the runs tonight, but Zack Wheeler is the unquestioned star of the night. Not only did he shut down the Diamondbacks and out dueled Zac Gallen and most importantly, saved the bullpen. That’s a legendary performance tonight.
Pretty amazing that, as the Phillies, 76ers and Eagles continually remake their logos, the Flyers continue with their still-awesome, traditional logo.
Here is the best logo for each of the four major teams.
For any Cardinals fans wondering how it felt to be shut out in a series-clinching game at home to a wild card team... this is how it feels.
2011 Redemption.
So how do we reconcile this: he wouldn’t be granted a catch until he survives the ground. So why is he ruled down once his knee hits (ball short of the goaline) before the he completes that act? Loophole @ProFootballTalk
OK, hear me out.
Harper to DH full time next year.
No Schwarber.
Kyle Tucker for RF.
Pete Alonso for 1B.
Aidan Miller at 3B.
Justin Crawford in CF.
Marsh/RH bat for LF.
Stott/Sosa for 2B.
Realmuto at C.
Trea at SS.
Prioritizing Harper's health and happiness.
Maybe the greatest quote a Philadelphia sports team owner has ever said.
“It’s why I keep telling everybody, it may be a privately-held business that we own, but it’s not a private organization. It’s a very public organization. It’s a stewardship. We have an obligation. We are accountable to the fans and to the city. If you don’t approach it that way, you shouldn’t be an owner in my opinion.”
Maybe the worst is finally past the #Phillies. John Middleton hopes so. Like every Phillies fan, he hasn't handled the losing well. He talked about frustrations and expectations.
“It’s time to shake off the cobwebs and start playing like it’s May or June."mlb.com/phillies/news/john-m…
That game summed up every worry we have about the Phillies. Offense couldn’t come up with a big hit after the second. Two high contact relievers blew a lead. Stars didn’t hit at all. Another home playoff loss. And now Bader may be gone. As bad as any loss over the last 4 years.
In 1983, the Phillies went 1-11 vs. the Dodgers in the regular season.
They then beat them handily in four games in the '83 NLCS.
In the playoffs, anything can happen.
I'm warning #Phillies fans this right now, here on Friday morning.
This weekend series in Baltimore could be ugly.
Phils are missing 3 regular bats. Bohm & Stott aren't hitting. The team looks tired after the London trip. The O's are ridiculously good.
Don't panic. It's OK.
DeShaun Watson isn’t enough of an upgrade over Jalen Hurts to deal away multiple picks and risk messing with the locker room ramifications of bringing in a guy with a checkered off field history to replace a guy beloved by his teammates. For Russ, sure. Not Watson.
Words can't describe how huge a save that was by Alvarado. Bohm throws away a game-ending double play ball and he comes back and gets Machado and Bell. Got 5 outs that inning. Didn't get rattled.
After a night to reflect, I still don’t know what the Eagles have in Jalen Hurts but it sure would be nice to see what he could be with a real NFL head coach.
Look, Bryce Harper isn't going anywhere and any speculation that he is seems silly. But if you watched Harper this year and didn't see a different guy, I don't know what you were watching. His production dipped, he seemed perpetually unhappy and almost aloof all year. Something was off all season.
This Phillies group has never had a 9th inning guy like this before. He's a true difference maker. Sanchez goes 8 shutout. What an electric series. Great win.
And I don't think this is playcall. I think this is Jalen deciding to play hero ball for some reason. Some stupid crap Wentz used to do that used to drive us crazy.
I gotta say, I don't like this. I don't think it's a "football play." Kickoffs should be high and deep and end-over-end. They should be caught in the air so players can return them cleanly. It's ugly football. I'm also worried about people getting hurt. And isn't it hard to officiate? Maybe?
We are now seeing multiple teams use low line drive bouncing kickoffs to steal chunks of yards on special teams
If you're tired of seeing possessions start near the 35 yard line, then your team should try this ⬇️
Castellanos confirms what we all thought to be true. The fans, once seen as a true difference maker in the players' favor, now seem to be hindering them as the Phillies continue to come up empty. Nothing Castellanos said isn't true, but I don't like the insinuation that it's the fans' fault.

“The stadium is alive on both sides, right?” Castellanos said. “When the game is going good, it’s wind at our back, right? But when a game is not going good, it’s wind in our face. So, the environment can be with us, and the environment can be against us.”
On Schwarber, @Ken_Rosenthal reports... "The expectation is that designated hitter Kyle Schwarber will remain with the Philadelphia Phillies. A four-year deal at $30-million plus per season seems realistic, in part, because his leadership adds to his value."

Johan Rojas has taken playing time away from Brandon Marsh in center field, and here's Marsh SO HAPPY for him. I love these selfless guys, what a team.
What Rob Thomson is doing managing so aggressively is baseball’s version of how Doug Pederson coached in the Super Bowl. Using Alvarado early, Suarez here, those are like going for it on 4th downs. We’ll see how it goes but hard to argue with the results so far.
The Rangers are destroying the Arizona bullpen game. The Phillies lost because their hitters were stupid and got themselves out. That much is becoming obvious.
Nick Sirianni's arrogance to pass in that situation is the reason this team lost. They deserved to lose. A completely unacceptable decision, it was bad in the moment, and we see why you just don't do that.
The Phillies lost a World Series last year after leading 2 games to 1 with 2 more games at home and an NLCS after a 2-0 lead and a 3-2 lead with 2 games at home. They also lost a Super Bowl leading by 10 at halftime.
If you want to know why Philly sports fans are damaged... ☝️
I just can’t understand opposition from Sixers fans to the Harden trade.
The main piece in the deal was a ghost. Someone incapable of playing for them ever again. By trading Simmons, they gave up NOTHING. He was never going to play for them again.
The Phillies went from being the best team in baseball, by a wide margin, for two-plus months, to being the worst team in baseball for the last month, except for the White Sox.
How on earth does that happen? How can a team, playing with its best players, have that high a ceiling and this low a floor?
How can you expect the players to be disciplined when the head coach, the leader of those men, acts like this? No self awareness, it’s incredible. He’s a child.
Echoing what others have said. Joe Davis' call on the Harper HR was fantastic, every bit as good as Franzke's. Not often a national broadcaster nails it like this. Joe Buck did the same with Stairs' HR in 2008. So much fun.
Pretty crazy that the Eagles really should have gone 16-1 this season.
There is only one team that really "beat" them, the Bucs.
They gave away wins with key drops against the Falcons and Commanders to close out games.
Was this the best regular season in Eagles history?
Anyone talking smack about Phillies fans and playing at Citizens Bank Park automatically loses the debate when they are reminded 31,000+ people came to an intrasquad game on a Wednesday at 6pm, just because they were excited about the playoffs, love the team and love the players.
Alshon Jeffery has a calf strain, according to @RapSheet
Report says it’s not major but his status for Sunday and then Thursday in Green Bay is in doubt
This was Alshon pregame in Atlanta last night. Only played 6 snaps
#Eagles
He drafts him in the 2nd round one year after giving Wentz a huge contract, has to trade Wentz a season later because of it and now doesn’t want him anymore? Sounds like my 6 yr old with a new toy every Christmas.
That is a CHARACTER win by the Phillies today. Taking 3 of 4 on the road against one of the NL’s best, and coming back from down 5-2 today, a day after losing Bryce Harper. Huge gut check win.
Everyone's picking the Phillies to win the World Series, huh? Got you nervous, huh?
Everyone picked the Dodgers to win last year. They did.
Everyone picked the Astros to win in 2022. They did.
Sometimes you're so good, it doesn't matter. The 2025 Phillies are that team.
Really glad the Phillies have both Walker Buehler AND Taijuan Walker on the NLDS roster for those 16-inning games that are sure to come up. No need for additional position players. Nope, none at all.
The @Phillies have won 21 of their last 32 games since August 3!
ALT Final: Philadelphia Phillies 4 (83-59), Miami Marlins 2 (65-77)
Pictured: Bryce Harper follows through on his swing after hitting a two-run home run against the Miami Marlins. He is wearing a gray Philadelphia Phillies jersey and red batting helmet.
Zack Wheeler lost the Cy Young because he pitched more innings than the winner, who was protected in a 6-man rotation and rarely faced hitters a 3rd time through the lineup.
I still can’t believe the Phillies won that game. That was as good as anything the ‘07-11 crew did. Has to be a huge confidence boost to an inexperienced playoff team.
If the Phillies get Harper/Segura back and get some CF help, they can score a bunch of runs. That, coupled with a game-shortening bullpen and two of the best starters in the NL... they could be a REALLY dangerous playoff team.
Am I missing something about the Rams, here? I truly don't understand all the hype around them right now. In Week 15 against the 49ers, they scored 12 points. They scored 16 points against the Jets. Then they scored 13 points against the Cardinals. Yeah, they had a good game last week, but this is not a juggernaut.
