Cracks me up when coaches working with kids speak a scientific language, then kids try to speak the same way, and neither really understand the detail. Coaches, if you truly understand, dummy it down! #StopRegurgitating
Not being negative, just real.
Baseball is in a place right now where some think the bigger the words, the smarter the coach. Reality check: the more complex the language, the fewer will understand.
Coaching is about players. And if the player doesn’t know what you’re talking about, YOU’RE NOT COACHING him.

It really is that simple!!!
Advancements in technology and training have caused pitchers and coaches lose common sense though.
I try to do two things: locate my fastball and change speeds. That's it. I try to keep as simple as possible.

@JasonTaulman's approach with kids is great. As stated in the article, he focuses on arm health and location (the art of pitching). If you are in the Indy area and your son is a pitcher, I can't recommend Jason enough. He is fantastic with kids and an all-around good man.
