Imagine being committed to an SEC ⚾️ school for 4 years, then having your scholarship pulled in April of your Senior year. And it’s not the HC that notified you, he has the assistant coach do it, then the HC ghosts you. College Athletics is a shameful F’ng business #Baseball
8 am field prep for 2 pm start. 90% of parents are great, the 10% that bash coach for putting lil Johnny in RF and not SS where he doesn’t belong just remember, there are thousands of us coaches who put in countless hours just so they can play. Say thx, be grateful, and enjoy it
Used to be you’d start in town ball together you’d play together all the way through HS and everyone supported each other. Today, no town ball, everyone goes off to different youth travel orgs then by HS no one knows how to gel together. Community pride overall is lacking
A-Rod “Japan plays a beautiful brand of baseball, 90’s baseball.” Ortiz-“They don’t worry about the analytics” US baseball needs to get back to the core of the game #baseballtwitter
Travel ⚾️ should not end in December and start back in January and it should not be played in unison with school baseball. 12 straight months of ⚾️ is ruining kids, stop it, be smarter than this.
If you’re being told to opt out of HS ⚾️ for the sake of travel ⚾️ don’t listen. You’re going to miss out on 3-4 of the best years of your life. You don’t get those years back, ever.
The amount of folks wanting to kick a youth C out of ⚾️ over this and he did it on purpose types are comical. Unfortunate incident that both will learn from, but that’s it, get a grip people 🙄
Retweeting this as ⚾️ tryouts, etc are happening in some areas and the upcoming ⚾️ season is getting near. Spread the word, save that 💵 where you can, these pearls ain’t cheap. 👍
Youth baseballs biggest problem over the past 2 decades is selling college baseball dreams to parents who’s kids have never stepped foot on a HS ⚾️ field, and all the 💩 that goes along with it
Mike Leach never played a down of college football, became a college football coaching legend, an innovator who changed the game. If you can coach, you can coach, it translates to any sport 💯
Definitely a teenager Croc who didn’t think he’d get the shit knocked out of him and all it’s younger siblings hauling ass right at impact behind it lol
My 12 year old son dead ass got mad at me yesterday because I was a bad throwing partner and I failed to get the ball back to him in the air during long toss! I’m 46, and have a torn meniscus. I hate him now for questioning my once well above average arm strength 🤬🤬
#BaseBall parents, if your son is a Catcher and a youth Coach tells him to practice throw downs with heavy balls because it “builds arm strength” walk them TF off the field.
We can talk a bout PG, showcases, gate fees, daddy ball, specialization, etc, etc, etc, but this 💩 right here is every bit as responsible for the disdain folks have towards ⚾️ these days. The F’ng prices are ridiculous to even get on the field.
Kids who batted .575 in LL and local AAU ball can’t seem to grasp the fact that when they hit 13U, MS, and HS why their average dropped to .315. You’re probably just as good of a hitter, it’s just the scorekeeper is now legit. 😏🤣
This 60/90 transition from the LL field ain’t nothing to play with kids. You young hammers dominating 12U better take that transition serious, you’ll get left behind by the ones that do. The game will weed you out I promise. 💯
My son (FR Catcher) is playing Varsity for fall ⚾️. Naturally I ask him how he’s competing and compares to the upperclassman. “Technique and fundamentals I’m right there with em, but man they’re just bigger, stronger, and faster” And that my boy is your reality for awhile lol
🧵 After much discussion of the Pros and Cons of it all my son opted out of travel ⚾️ this spring. He’ll play JHS ball and in his own words, “throwing program, hit the weights, do lessons, and get ready for fall HS ⚾️, I’m just kind of burned out on travel ⚾️ right now.”
Chill kid, nice bases clearing double but you’re on third cause the cut off man was way overthrown and the ⚾️ got past 2 infielders for you to advance a bag. At least that’s my convo as the 3B coach in this situation #LLWS
I’m 💯 convinced that the most underdeveloped skill in youth ⚾️ is base running. We spent an hour on it last night, and could probably spend an entire week. Of all the things we struggled with this past weekend this was it. 50/70 allows mistakes that 60/90 punishes you for
I called a player “Sir-K-A Lot” today at practice when I handed him his bat. He went home and told his mom, she gave me the stank eye when I walked through the door. 😏 I thought it was funny 🤷♂️
Youth baseballs biggest problem are the Parents, Orgs, Coaches who want to get their kids into college ⚾️ before they get them on JV or Freshman squads. 🤷♂️
Welp ⚾️, it’s been a good ride. As a ⚾️ guy it’s hard to see your son wanting to move on from it but as a dad you support your kids no matter what. 🏀 is his passion, his pursuit, so we say 👋 for now and leave the door open (hopefully) one day, go be great kiddo and ball TF out
There’s always that one ⚾️ kid you know who’s been shit on by “adults.” A bit awkward, lacks some athleticism at a younger age, gets passed on over politics or simply overlooked, but just keeps working. Those are the kids you want to help, you want to see succeed, no matter what
Things you’d hear in ⚾️ 30 years ago you’d never hear today.
1. “All The gear is in the big green ARMY bag”
2. “The C cup is one size fits all
3. “Swing level”
4. “We only have 3 team bats, pick one close to your size.”
5. “Tag Day is this Saturday”

LeBron James says fatigue is hitting the Lakers from all angles. The team has spent 18 of the last 27 days on the road and will close out 2023 by spending six of the next 11 days away from home, too.
Let’s keep this simple. Parents of 13U and younger, if your travel org is talking to you about college ⚾️ rn, leave. If they’re talking to you about development and fundamentals, stay. You’re welcome
This ump worked 2 games today by himself behind the plate. At the very least I thought a handshake was warranted. So did my C who’s worked a few games with him in the past, and game 1 today. Catchers, always thank your umps. 💯
I saw where some 8U travel ⚾️ coaches were arrested for drinking in the dugout.
1- if you’ve ever coached this age, you’ll understand why they were drinking lol
2- when I was 8 (early 80’s) the base coaches gave signs with 1 hand, the other was to, hold their 🍺 😂
My father-in-law passed away tonight, at a restaurant in Stuart, FL but only after he finished his Prime Rib and a double Scotch. The timing was impeccable, I’ll miss our golf outings and our drinks afterwards. Gonna miss him immensely 💔 call your parents, tell em you love em
My son guest played this past weekend with a program for a PG Tourney. Pool play HC hit 12 through the order no P went past 78 pitches, pitched 9 total had 4 different C’s in 4 games, I heard no complaint from a parent, made the semis (lost to eventual champ) Kudos to him 👍
So pitch counts continue to drop, TJ surgeries continue to rise. Maybe the larger issue is not enough throwing in season, too much in the off-season, improper arm care during both seasons or no off-season at all 🤷♂️🤔 But just keep worrying about “pitch counts” #baseballtwitter
After 7 straight balls and his P struggling, Sandefur makes the visit, maintains his composure in front of 5k in attendance and against a ranked state rival. If he can do it, so can 10U coaches. @HerdBaseball
Had a ⚾️ dad tell me recently he won’t let his son play whiffle ball during the season cause it “effects his swing” and that is what’s wrong with youth ⚾️ these days 🤦♂️
I don’t understand the hate for @Benaskren for stepping up to take on @alliseeisgold for charity. Dude hasn’t wrestled competitively in years but did so for a great cause. I hope we have more of this in the future.
No one is ever allowed to say on this app ever again that there is a shortage of ⚾️ umpires and catching coaches in youth ⚾️ There are literally hundreds of experts I’ve met on here just in the last 24 hours, don’t ever want to hear it again. 😁
College sports is in shambles. Sure, let’s skip our first 4 HS starts for this, let’s specialize 12 year olds for this, let’s drop 15K a year in youth ⚾️ as the ROI is certainly there🤔🤨
One of my ‘23 Grads was recruited by a D1 school, he showed up to campus this fall and there were 58 players.
Before practices even started Head Coach told freshman that they aren’t needed anymore and they could play without them because they brought in a bunch of transfers.
Probably an unpopular opinion but I don’t think travel ⚾️ and school ⚾️ should coincide with each other. Training-ok but playing games not so much. And I’m referring to MS/JHS ⚾️ but if HS applies to some here, so be it, I feel the same.
