Guitar Collector, Guitar Player... There are two letters that separate infamous and famous, I am not sure what applies to me anymore. Sell by date: 11/08/2039
This is devastating news. A one of a kind singer, artist, personality and larger than life performer. I had the privilege of playing a solo on his "Undercover" album 20 years ago. I will always consider that as one of the great honors of my life. Rest in Peace..
To say we are all devastated by this news is an understatement. I simply cannot get my head around it. Rest in Peace Jeff. The greatest that ever touched a guitar.
In a year that has been let’s just say rhymes with Fit.. The third known photo of Robert Johnson surfacing and being kept all these years by his 94 year old stepsister is the best news/story I have heard in awhile. 😎👍
Once again proving that @RollingStone 's days as a serious music publication are in the rear view mirror. Might want to sit this one out guys. "Never Had a Signature Song" Are you kidding me?
Jeff Beck never had a signature song the way his peers did, but the genres he explored throughout his career — from British Invasion pop to blues-rock to fusion and beyond — chart the changes in rock over decades trib.al/nrAh8n3
Words cannot describe how monumental the loss of Edward Van Halen is to the music community. He inspired generations of guitar players of all genres. His playing was unrivaled in its ingenuity and its ferocity. Rest In Peace to the greatest Rock Guitarist of all time.
This has been worst week in my memory. Literally everyday another legend or friend has passed away. Rest in Peace Gary. Thank you for being so nice to me over the years.
Rest in Peace.. My first concert was Dickey Betts at Coleman's in Rome, New York in 1983. Blew my mind and made me want a Les Paul. My thoughts and prayers go out to Duane and the entire Betts family.
Mission Accomplished: I just purchased this 1957 "dark back" Les Paul Standard from the daughter of the original owner who bought it when he was in the military circa 1957. The seller wishes to remain private but needless to say it was a fun morning in Missouri. 😎👍
Direct from Ireland, 17-year-old Muireann Bradley indulges us (and tugs at our Led Zep heartstrings) with a rendition of Memphis Minnie’s “When the Levee Breaks.” She’s using the ’34 Gibson L-50 borrowed from dad’s collection. Watch the full video at vintageguitar.com/59017/muir…
Alice in Chains ruling the Wembley Arena in London tonight. Great to see a killer 4 piece band play and sing LIVE and sound like the album. Super nice folks too! 😎👍
Rest in Peace to one of the best to ever grace the stage. I was just saying that the greatest gig I had ever witnessed was Tony Bennett at North Sea Jazz in 2012. It was like dropping a needle on a record. He was the last of the greatest generation of singers and musicians.
Rest In Peace Dusty. You were a one of a kind, legend and kind and gentle soul. My condolences to his family, Billy and Frank and the entire ZZ Top organization.
Many thanks to my neighbor Danny and the LAFD for such a quick response to a brush fire last night at my house. Luckily only the brush burned. I am very grateful and very lucky.
My Pop being a fucking legend!!! Hahaha His neighbor had leaf blowers going at 7am and Pop decided to bring out his amp and give his own early morning hello! 😂 They’ve has a rivalry going for some time but this takes the cake! @stevelukather
I first came to LA in 1989. My dad and I would hit every guitar shop on Sunset Boulevard starting at the corner of North Gardner Street. If you told me then that 35 years later I would have a billboard advertising my show at the Hollywood Bowl I would not have believed it. 😎
If you think this photo from 2008 represents what my collection consists of then you are more ill informed than most. Here's what I think since you asked. It's none of your fucking business what I do with my hard earned money. Click baiters are worse than time share salesmen.
I cannot even begin to process this. I will say more later. But Rest in Peace my dear friend. You were one of a kind my friend. A whole community is devastated tonight. ❤️
One of the greatest sounding acoustic guitars I have ever played. 1939 00-42 @MartinGuitar purchased from Uncle Norm a few years ago. @NormansGuitars .. Apologies for the slight tuning discrepancy but I'm on vacation and do not care. 😎👍
Rest in Peace to one of the greatest neck pickups on one of the greatest Stratocaster guitars Leo ever built. After 68 years it finally quit. Thank you for the 1000 plus shows and the countless gigs before my time. 😎👍
9-0427 aka Daddy Reed. I’m honored to have bought this today from the original owner’s family. A beautiful all original 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard. 😎👍
Paul Rogers, Stevie Marriott, Rod Stewart, Peter Wolf, Dug Pinnick, Bon Scott, Ozzy Osbourne, Jack Bruce, Sammy Hagar, Glenn Hughes, David Coverdale 🤷♂️
Happy 94th birthday to The King! Mr King was the most kind and generous person I have ever met. He helped so many of us along the way. I will forever be honored to have called him a mentor and a friend.
Well here it is officially: The 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard that Tommy Bolin played in Zephyr, Deep Purple and on his solo albums is now proudly in the collection of The Nerdville Museum of Vintage guitars.. Operation Moab mission status: Complete 😎👍 photo by Agent R
I think there are two disturbing trends in the concert business. 1: This baffling trend of "fans" throwing objects such as phones, drinks, etc at artists onstage. 2: Equally disturbing is the blatant use of tracks by artist at "live" shows. An outright fleecing of real fans.
It's not in my hands anymore. A very hard place to be as a curator. It's my lifetime of work. I knew this day would come eventually but just not today. So far so good tonight but the situation is very fluid. A major thanks to the firefighters and first responders for giving it their all these past few days. Stay safe Los Angeles.. These are uncertain and unprecedented times.
Trying not think of all the bad news and remind myself I used to be a professional blues guitarist in a former life. ( aka like 3 weeks ago. ) It is Ronnie Earl night here in Nerdville 😎👍
Dear @FedEx I would like my guitar back. It's JB006 @FenderCustom Nocaster that was on its way to @GuitarWorld for review 10 days ago. You say it's missing. I say it was stolen. Your own videos prove it was scanned into your distribution center in Nashville and never left. 🤷♂️
I will be forever grateful to the person who uploaded this incredible live video.
The guy you're watching is 78 but he proves that age is just a number. The legendary vocalist and guitar player David Gilmour performing an epic song, Comfortably Numb, live at his 3rd night at Madison Square Garden on November the 6th, 2024.
The angle, the quality, the atmosphere, and David...
There's no words I can describe this live performance.
Iconic.
Another installment of the Z-Pack Blues. Who said Nyquil and antihistamines can't take the place of Jack Daniels and cocaine when it comes to a respectable party in the Hollywood Hills on a Saturday night? 😎👍
Day two of trying to remind myself that I used to be a guitar player. Please note.. Hat is load bearing and glasses are placebos. I actually have 20/20 vision. 😎👍
My only question in regards an annual video music awards show is ... How do you figure out who/whom to nominate if there are no videos broadcast on the television network presenting said awards. It like giving an award for best ham sandwich served at a vegetarian restaurant. 🤔
What a team!! Three of the best singers anyone could ever ask to be around. It's such an honor to share the stage every night with these wonderfully talented and kind women. @MsMonet@therealjademac#danniDeAndrea 😎👍
This is what happens when I have three nespresso’s in a one hour span of time. A neat tidy 1954 Les Paul Jr through an amp built for Hoyt Axton by a boutique amp builder from California circa 1980.
Says a jealous little man. I actually have the most #1 Blues records in the history of the Billboard charts. Most of them are ... Wait for it. Original! And, I own 700 vintage guitars and the largest vintage Fender amp collection in the world. Any other questions or concerns? 🤷♂️
I literally just turned my phone on after 10 hours on the plane to Miami. I have not read a more ignorant, more uninformed comment in the past year or maybe longer. If I am an industry creation, why did the "industry " not help me at all over the past 37 years? Literally my manager and I built the whole thing on our own from nothing. And as far as humility is concerned, fuck you. I earned the right to have an opinion.
After opening a show for these gentlemen and seeing how good they still are this should inspire us all to keep getting better and to never rest upon our past achievements. So much respect for @RollingStones
Very rarely do I get the opportunity to record one of these videos with the live rig. ( four JB Twins). The lads and Ladettes were out for lunch so I figured I take advantage of the peace and quiet. The guitar is a 1961 Cherry Gibson ES-335. 😎👍
Here is a spectacular piece recently added to the Nerdville Museum of Vintage Guitars and Bespoke JC Penny Table Lamps ..A 10/10 original 1957 Gold Top, played twice and stored under the bed for almost 63 years. Thank you to Billy and Mike. I’m honored to be the 3rd owner. 😎👍
Just got home to LA and fired up the 1976 Lowell George Dumble Overdrive Special Reverb ( on shag) for the first time. Had to deviate a little due to copyright concerns but as you can tell the amp was built for the man himself no question about it. I even like the Altecs! 😎👍
