I never officially announced this, but earlier this year I was selected to join the MLB Fan Council.
It has been an incredible opportunity to provide feedback directly to MLB on topics impacting fans and the future of the game.
I am grateful for the chance to represent #Angels fans and the InsideHalos community in these discussions.
It has also been a really insightful experience, and I have learned a lot through the conversations and meetings so far. I look forward to sharing some insight and takeaways from those meetings as the season continues! ⚾️

The #Angels have signed super utility man, Chris Taylor to a major league deal. The Angels only owe him league minimum as the Dodgers released him just over a week ago.
The corresponding move will be Kyren Paris being optioned, likely to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Taylor, 34, will start in CF for the Halos against the Yankees tonight. He was had a slashline of .200/.200/.257/.457 with 2 RBIs and 0 HRs in 35 ABs, 28 games played, this season. He provides not only veteran presence to this team but will also be huge on the depth chart as he's played all over the diamond, excluding 1B & catcher.

Laweryson, 27, appeared in 7.2 innings last season in the big leagues with a 1.17 ERA & 1.31 FIP, career 3.39 ERA in the minors with 10.3 K/9. He made his MLB debut on September 13th.

I have a suspicion that Arte Moreno might be wanting to sell the team soon.
Likely once the new CBA is agreed upon. '26 is the last season with the current CBA, '27 is going to be a lockout year. So we might see him sell the team midway through '27 (if a season is even played) or in '28.
He could also try and get out once this trial with the Skaggs family wraps up, however the value of the team prior to a looming lockout probably isnt at its greatest.
You have Perry & Kurt both on one year deals. Arte himself didnt show up to the Introductory Press Conference (likely because he didnt want to answer questions). But it just feels like a sale is the direction he is ultimately aiming towards in the next few seasons or so.

Should be an interesting offseason to see how they fill their rotation. My guess is they go cheap or look for reclamation projects if history means anything.
Of course, you also have in-house options like Reid Detmers, who has said he wants to go back to starting. Along with Caden Dana, Sam Aldegheri, & Mitch Farris. You also have George Klassen, who could be an option out of Spring.
Will also be interesting to see whether or not the Skaggs trial will affect this offseason.

Love that all the negative #Angels fans that have had no hope all year and haven't enjoyed a second of the early season success are so quick to say "I told you so" or something dumb after tonights loss. Like, ok, we're going to lose games and win some, but don't rain on everyone else's parade just because we just lost terribly. It's one game, reset and go back tomorrow, still a chance to win this series.
