Suggested to Mikel Arteta post-match that Viktor Gyökeres’ tactical contribution today might have gone under the radar, to which he responded: “I just went there and hugged him and said thank you because the work that he does is unbelievable for the team. The way he stretches the back four and the spaces he opens. I mean today how he hasn’t scored a goal, I don’t know!” @BBCLondonSport

Haaland threw the ball at Gabriel’s head after City scored earlier in the season but Gabriel isn’t allowed to celebrate in front of him? Lewis-Skelly was disrespected by Haaland up at the Etihad but isn’t allowed to give it back? Truth is, rivalries make for far better entertainment. I don’t have a problem with any of it, I just wish people would be consistent in their views on such actions.

Watching the game back & the best thing about Kiwior’s performance was that he was fully aware of the challenges he faced playing on his wrong side & adapted his game accordingly. He enabled us to play with the high line but at the same time, toned down his normally aggressive defensive style, understanding that if Wilson or Isak for example were to spin him and take him on a run down his outside he could struggle given how left footed he is. He comes across as a really intelligent footballer. Looking forward to watching his development.

Pope’s touch on the ball is a consequence of Gyökeres kicking it onto him, not a result of a good challenge from the keeper. Gabriel Jesus is a huge part of the reason Arsenal went from top four challengers to title contenders in a short space of time. The disrespect towards him from some drives me mad. I think we can all agree he's not the most prolific goalscorer but his xG so far in the Premier League this season stands at 1.49 and he's scored 1 goal in 3 starts - it's hardly a major underperformance. Arsenal are 7th in the Premier League so far this season when it comes to 'shot creating actions' which may worry some but the Gunners have only scored one less goal than we managed at the same stage last season. Not to mention the fact we have 2 more points! We've suffered injuries to Jesus, Saka, Martinelli & Trossard so far this season. The attack isn't broken, we've just been really unfortunate.

Asked Mikel Arteta about what it is specifically Martin Zubimendi has brought to Arsenal's midfield since arriving in the summer. He said: "Well every player is different. We had some terrific midfielders here. He brings a certain composure that it's very difficult to understand. The way he processes information and learns from the game and what is actually happening in the game, at that speed is remarkable. "For him, it was about unlocking certain spaces and his capacity to look further and to hurt the opposition when his teammates are further from the ball and himself and if he can add goals to it... even better. " I then asked if there's more to come from him... "Yeah, a lot more. The more he understands his teammates, their timing and those relationships build, I think we'll see another level still."
