A bank in Los Angeles called the police because they had a problem with an elderly resident. When the officer arrived, he found a 92-year-old man upset because the bank wouldn't give him money. His identity card had expired, and the bank could not pay him without valid documents. The old man, however, did not understand what the problem was. Instead of escorting him out of the bank, the policeman took the old man by the arm and drove him to the police station, where he was immediately issued a new ID. The policeman then drove him back to the bank, where he was handed the money a few minutes before the counter closed.

In England, it is not uncommon to see "wavy" brick walls. Interestingly, the design uses fewer bricks than a straight wall. A straight wall that is just one brick thick is not sturdy enough to stand alone & can be easily toppled, so they generally have a thickness of at least two or more layers of bricks, & are also reinforced at regular intervals with vertical posts serving as buttresses. But a wavy "one-brick" wall stands just fine on its own due to the arch support provided by its shape, which combines both wall & buttress. Such a structure is called a "crinkle crankle wall" "the Old English version of "zig zag."

Yasuo Takamatsu’s quest to find his wife is not a solitary endeavor. He is joined by his old school friend, Masaaki Narita, who also lost a loved one to the tsunami. Together, they dive twice a month, their shared loss forging a bond of camaraderie and mutual support. Their dives are not just about finding their loved ones, but also about finding a sense of purpose amidst the grief and loss. The underwater world they explore is a stark reminder of the tsunami’s destructive power. The sea floor of Onagawa Bay, where they dive, is littered with remnants of a once thriving city. Amidst the scattered debris of fridges, TVs, cars, and fishing gear, they search for any sign of their loved ones. This underwater city serves as a poignant memorial of the lives lost and the community that once was. Yasuo’s determination to find his wife led him to acquire a higher-level diving license, necessary for underwater searches and clearing debris. His journey from a grieving husband to a licensed diver exemplifies his unwavering resolve. His story is a powerful narrative of love, loss, and the indomitable human spirit.

Keanu Reeves was abandoned by his father at the age of 3 and grew up with 3 different stepfathers. He is dyslexic. His dream of becoming a hockey player was shattered by a serious accident. His daughter died at birth. His wife died in a car accident. His best friend, River Phoenix, died of an overdose. His sister battled leukemia. No bodyguards, no luxury houses. Keanu lives in an ordinary apartment and likes wandering around town and often seen riding a subway in NYC. When he was filming the movie "The Lake House," he overheard the conversation of two costume assistants, one crying as he would lose his house if he did not pay $20,000 - On the same day, Keanu deposited the necessary amount in his bank account. In his career, he has donated large sums to hospitals including $75 million of his earnings from “The Matrix” to charities. In 2010, on his birthday, Keanu walked into a bakery & bought a brioche with a single candle, ate it in front of the bakery, and offered coffee to people who stopped to talk to him. In 1997, some paparazzi found him walking one morning in the company of a homeless man in Los Angeles, listening to him and sharing his life for a few hours. In life, sometimes the ones most broken from inside are the ones most willing to help others. This man could buy everything, and instead, every day he gets up and chooses one thing that cannot be bought:

Back in the late 1990’s Julia Hill climbed a 1000-year-old redwood tree named Luna and she didn’t come down for another 738 days. She ended her revolutionary action when an agreement was made with Pacific Lumber Company to spare the tree and a 200 foot buffer zone surrounding the tree. Once up the tree, she vowed not to come down until she had made a difference. Clinging to her mattress through violent storms, supported with food and necessities by a ground crew, she stayed two years and eight days.

Compassion story: She said, “Don't call the doctor, I want to fall asleep peacefully, with your hand in mine.” He told her about the past, how they met, their first kiss. they didn't cry, they smiled. They didn't regret anything, they were grateful. Then she repeated softly, 'I love you forever!' He returned her words, gave her a soft kiss on the forehead. She closed her eyes and fell asleep peacefully with her hand in his. Love is what matters because man comes into this world with nothing other than love and leaves with nothing other than love. Profession, career, bank account, our goods are just tools, nothing more. Everything stays here. Love, as if there was nothing more important in your life.❤️

Neerja Bhanot: The Indian Air Hostess Who Sacrificed Her Life to Protect Three Children from Gunfire Neerja Bhanot, a courageous 22-year-old Indian flight attendant, found herself at the center of a harrowing incident when Pan Am Flight 73 was hijacked by terrorists during a layover in 1986. The terrorists wasted no time in demonstrating their brutality by executing an Indian-American passenger and discarding his body from the plane. They then demanded Bhanot to collect all the passports of the passengers to identify Americans among them. Instead, Bhanot made a bold decision. She covertly hid the passports of the 43 American passengers, concealing some under seats and disposing of others in the trash. After 17 agonizing hours of being held hostage, the terrorists began detonating explosives and opening fire. In an act of extraordinary bravery, Bhanot took action. She managed to open the airplane doors and, rather than fleeing to save herself, she selflessly guided other passengers towards safety. Tragically, she was struck by a bullet in the head while shielding three young American children from the hail of gunfire. Despite her sacrifice, Bhanot's heroic actions led to the rescue of 42 out of the 44 American passengers onboard. One of the children whom Bhanot protected, then a 7-year-old, went on to become a captain of a major airline. He credits Bhanot as his eternal inspiration, acknowledging that he owes every single day of his life to her selfless act of bravery.
