Fox's nair is -3 on shields when done as low as possible to the ground.
A footstool takes 4 frames to do.
If Shield were "frame 1" the footstool would be a phantom footstool.
Pac can option select getting hydrant broken by holding shield and special and then mashing jump. If they don't break hydrant Pac keeps shield. If they do break hydrant Pac jumps.
The more I play rivals 2 the more I realize how flawed smash ultimate is. Their parry is amazing and it would destroy Min Min if she were a playable character.
The only complaints I have with rivals are:
- Replay mode is really confusing
- Training mode could be better but it's alright. Smash ultimate's frame by frame mode is way better.
- The stage list is weird as hell.
- Ultimate feels better visually since the animations and hit effects of rivals looks and feels like and indie dev game. Idk why they didnt just copy the how ultimate made their hits look.
9.5/10 game
Min Min Ram Ram
Mythra (Anything)
Steve (Anything)
Sonic spindash -> homing attack and then hitting the slowest looking back air ever
Banjo's Neutral Special
Hero's top decking anything.
Richter Ftilt.
Shulk using Shield Art
Game and Watch Bacon the ledge
While the idea of this jank airdodge cancelling tech isn't fundamentally new, I didn't realize how strong it can be when doing it in situations where you are directly *under* the platform. This seems kind of good actually
Example:
If Mario is at a range where he can react to Sonic's Spin Dash with a grab, then a good Sonic won't release Spin Dash.
They'll just jump dair in place.
