A full life is a gift. A career in golf is a privilege. Having my story told is a humbling honour. My heart is full—full of gratitude for those who brought this documentary to life and full of love for the people who made the journey so extraordinary.
You start out just wanting to win that first tournament. Then one day, you look back and realize the journey of a champion became something far greater than trophies or titles.
This is my story… of how a young boy from Africa dared to conquer the world.

I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Rory McIlroy on his historic win at the Masters and completion of the career Grand Slam. The drama of today capped off with his playoff victory was simply meant to be. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my admiration for Justin Rose, who embodies the true spirit of a gentleman in our game.
This is one of the rarest and most difficult achievements in all of sport, something only now six golfers in history have ever accomplished. We are proud to add Rory to our exclusive club and no doubt he has set the standard for his era. To win all four major championships takes unwavering perseverance and the courage to overcome adversity time and time again in the face of immeasurable pressure few have ever experienced. Rory showed true grit today and also through the entire tournament.
It was 11 years ago when Rory first started the final leg of his career Grand Slam journey. And throughout this time, he’s carried himself with class, led with principle, and played with passion. For him to finally don the Green Jacket in golf is a moment to be celebrated by fans around the world.
Rory has made his mark on history, and all of us who love this game are incredibly proud.

But Turnberry is incredibly special and is a close second to Pine Valley in my top two courses on the planet. No doubt Turnberry deserves to be back on The Open’s Rota. It’s an absolute paradise of links golf with a storied history.

Chi Chi was a very dear friend of mine and we have so many great memories together with countless laughs. Chi Chi gave people pleasure, and what more can you do than give people happiness? Happiness is contagious and Chi Chi had an abundance of happiness. I will miss Chi Chi terribly. He had an extremely high IQ to go along with a great sense of humor too. I know he is happily with his wife now. For decades, he was an important contributor to the sport that we love dearly. Characters like Chi Chi are vital in professional golf. Our thoughts are with Chi Chi’s family, and we will do our best to uphold his legacy as one of the game’s all-time favourite players. GP

I cannot fathom that it's now been one year without the love of my life by my side. I've been keeping busy as a means to distract myself, but I feel Vivienne’s absence every day. Despite my family’s pain, it brings me solace knowing that she's at peace. We love and miss you, Viv.

I believe the mistake most golfers make is that they try to hit a straight ball. Hogan said hitting it straight was a “fluke”. If you aim up the right side and draw it or vice versa, then you make the fairway as big as possible. If you aim up the middle, you then you cut the fairway in half. This means a shot that draws too much ends up in the rough on the left and a ball that fades too much ends up in the right rough. The game is tough enough, so try to give yourself as much advantage as possible. GP

This was from a few years ago before I left on an overnight flight and I always exercise before traveling. No doubt yesterday he proved that age is just a number and that back 9 was simply a masterclass of golf! The playoff against JJ Spaun was an absolutely thrilling battle that we all hope for each week. It’s hard to believe Justin has been a professional for nearly 30 years. This week, I am rooting for Jordan Spieth to capture the career Grand Slam. I have been a big fan of Jordan for a long time and do feel he is one of the most talented golfers on Tour right now. He is a magician, especially around the greens.
