I haven't advertised this, but 57 years after doctors in Columbus, Ohio told my parents that I probably wouldn't live to 20, they apparently were only off by 41-plus years.
I'm going into hospice soon, but really don't know exactly how long I have...so will compete until the day I go home.
I'm now on a ventilator 23-plus hours daily in bed (why I have so much time to post on social media and watch sports 😅), but very comfortable at this point and enjoying my family.
I really delayed posting this, because I'll get the traditional "I'm so sorry..." and that's fine, but what I'd rather get from those I grew up with, went to college with, and those I've known since the 90's to share a favorite memory with you that I may have forgotten!!
I'm very much at peace with this, as it was inevitable at some point, and I've been able to do so many things in a profession that I've created and love...and two of my sons will take over the family business and no doubt will take it to an entirely new level.
I do believe strongly in prayer, and will take anything you've got, but DO NOT feel bad for me, as I've done so much and have been so blessed with family and friends in my 61-plus years.
Ok, now that I've got that off my chest, let's talk sports...and bring it, as you know I definitely will 😉

BREAKING: As we've said for a year, #FSU and #Clemson will not get a #B1G offer, due to neither being AAU accredited. But from Vegas the talk is the #SEC has now turned the pair down. With new sponsorship the B12 p4obably won't pay quite what the other two do, but with those two they'll pay double what the #ACC does.
P.S. And it won't end there. The talk is the B12 will take six from the ACC.

Bad news of the day, looks like the #Big12 stuck with the #Sooners and #Longhorns until 2025, meaning three more seasons. OU simply doesn't have the money to buyout their contract to jump to the #SEC, and Texas won't cover their costs, nor can they leave without OU.

BREAKING: According to multiple sources tonight who cover conference realignment, back channel conversations have all but ceased between the #SEC and #B1G conferences with #FSU and #Clemson for now.

Yes, the #Big12 is absolutely going to poach multiple teams from the #ACC, and ironically it's been confirmed to me by the exact same source in Chicago who's helped me out with info a year ago that the Four Corners #Pac12 schools would join the #Big12, and he's let me know repeatedly ovee the years that the B10 will NOT add any non AAU accredited schools. He also helped me many years ago about the four team B12 exodus, and then their later additions. I'm as confident as I've ever been about the ACC exodus to the B12, but they'll only take between 4-6 schools, so if a school misses out in this round of musical chairs, they're likely left out of the P3, as at that point it's not likely that the remaining ACC teams will have much "power".

BREAKING: #Wazzu and the #Beavers could join the #Big12 soon, if things work out, but right now the Big 12 seems to be focusing on the entire package to get to 24, which would make then virtually untouchable to be removed as a power conference.
Each day that goes by I continue to hear more about private equity firms and poaching the ACC, in addition to Washington State and Oregon State, and believe strongly adding both coasts is the way to put the Big 12 in a very enviable position...especially with the TV people.

So I asked my hospice nurse the other day "what's the longest a parient of yours has lived once in hospice" She said five years, and since I'm very competitive, I'm hoping to break that record!! 😄
Hospice certainly has a way of making you reevaluate your future, but to me it's making the country a better place for my family...and especially my grandsons!!
We may not agree on sports or politics, but honestly TRYING to love everyone!! That doesn't mean I plan on ever losing an argument though. 😅

Why are we now talking #Clemson and #FSU to the #Big12, something I wouldn't have believed myself just a week ago? Three reasons, two of which everyone already knew, but the last reason just recently became known.
1. The two schools have burnt their bridge with the #ACC with lawsuits that the rest of the league believes is arrogant.
2. The #B1G isn't going to add until #NotreDame is ready to join (and they aren't), and more than half of the B1G member schools are adamantly against adding ANY non AAU accredited schools.
3. And now our longtime #SEC sources are telling us and others that there are not nearly enough members who'll vote to add the Seminoles and Tigers, although a week ago we thought they had, as the #Gamecocks and #Gators have somehow now convinced a majority of the SEC to say no to #FSU and #Clemson.
The only other option would be to go independent...and good luck with that. 🏈

The gist of the story, as it was presented to me is that the other conferences don't really want to add, and the TV folks want the #SEC and #B1G to stand down while the #Big12 poaches the #ACC, and that they could take as many as eight teams.
Remember this time last year the word came out that the #B1G didn't want to look like poachers, (even though they had poached #USC and #UCLA a year earlier) so they let the #Big12 go first, before the Big 10 poached #UDub and the #Ducks.
The B12 going first again, and we're hearing #Clemson, #FSU, #CardNation, #VaTech, #Pitt and #NCState, leaving the AAU accredited #UNC and #UVA, #GT and #TheU for the #B1G.
