It's easy to drop and limit texture resolution now! (in fact, if you have little VRAM, it'll default to lower settings automatically).

In the latest @ResoniteApp update, I've made it so when you lag, now you don't!
The renderer can decouple from the main engine and smooth out any hitches and lag spikes and make them less jarring/disruptive - extra useful in VR and for videos!

I don't understand people who think that being (passive) aggressive, mean or antagonistic towards devs will get them what they want faster.
We're human, if you make us feel awful, we end up working slower, not faster.
I wish more people would work with us, rather than against.
This was insane! The .NET 8.0 upgrade for headless was really worth it. The codegen quality (and overall runtime performance) between Mono and .NET 8.0 is insane.
Now to get the graphical client on .NET 8.0 too! That's a bit bigger task, but it'll be so worth it.

Gaussian splatting is incredible at preserving the fur detail on fursuits!
I've recently got to steal @wolf.amunak.net's head and this is probably one of the best results I got so far with this technique for fur.

Sometimes I wish the avatar blendshape would be split between left & right side of the avatar for better face tracking, but it comes as one.
So I implemented algorithm for @ResoniteApp that splits them up for you fully in-game :3

Here's a first person view of being and flying in the Wyvern! I don't get to see a lot of my own body while I'm flying, but the sensation of being held up by my wings is really awesome.
That bit of snout that the camera picks up is a full snout view in-headset.

I just spent a whole day diagnosing an issue that could've been solved in 5 minutes if the person reporting it provided relevant information and context.
It can be frustrating when people tell you "make sure to rest and take breaks" when you have deadlines and pile of work that MUST be done.
I know it sucks for health and happiness, but often not giving 150 % is not a choice if you want your project to survive.
I caught COVID and I since got my Quest Pro with me, I'm getting the native Steam Link face tracking support finally sorted out for @ResoniteApp (which I wanted to do for a while).
I think I cranked the hard-coded pupil dilation value a bit too high for this test...

I'm really proud of how PhotonDust is coming along - the new in-house particle system for @ResoniteApp I'm making.
I've added collisions to it, which can be heavy. The system is multithreaded & asynchronous - it won't tank your FPS when the simulation gets too heavy! #gamedev

I got native PDF support working in @ResoniteApp! The UI is very barebones - the content team will make a nice one soon(ish) and you can build your own too! The PDF rendering components are freely usable by anyone!

I added support to copying textures directly to clipboard from @ResoniteApp and pasting them back easily!
This makes it super easy to make quick edits to textures in Photoshop/GIMP/MSPaint/whatever else.

I've implemented Blendshape sorting on SkinnedMeshes for @ResoniteApp! This can make it easier to ensure a consistent order and make blendshapes more readable.

Oh my god, this is insane! @orange_3134 has actually done it and recreated the clip that's been making rounds in @ResoniteApp :D That took no time at all!
I've fixed it yay! :D Now the mesh particles perfectly follow either the mesh tangents, bitangents or normals! Turns out, the float3x3 matrix constructor from rows was wrong and interpreting them as columns instead. #Resonite#gamedev#socialVR
Some more avatars I tested with the new finger tracking retargeting system in @neos_vr and @LeapMotion I honestly didn't expect it to be so mesmerizing to watch, but it looks too cool to not share! :D #socialVR#metaverse
There's another aspect to this too. It'd be nice to feel that people "want" me to be around and join things.
Most of the time I feel like I just sort of... exist. Everybody has their groups and circles and I'm just an outsider that floats around sometimes.
I get this too. I'm usually worried about assuming too much and that I'll annoy people or bother them at the wrong time.
Plus I'm a bit scatterbrain with these things. If someone wants me to come I'm much more likely to think about it and show up, vs if I just "can".
The simple 3D modelling tool was updated with new interface, UV mapping and some other features! This tool was built completely in-game in @neos_vr by Aegis_Wolf, out graphic artist, using Neos' procedural mesh support and visual scripting language. #NeosVR#socialVR#metaverse

I'm still really proud of implementing multi-instancing in the core engine. Switching between multiple open worlds instantly is important for a VR metaverse, the same way tab support with ability to switch between open websites became really important for web-browsers.
I feel like my life has been about choosing what is right and I feel needs to be done and what would make me happy, and I hate it.
I wish that for once, they could align and stop tearing me apart.
I've reworked segment orientation math for ProtoFlux wires so they will stop twisting weirdly in @ResoniteApp!
They should look much better now, even though their poly-count has been reduced significantly recently for better performance.

I'd say this applies to autistics and other neurodivergents disproportionately.

Noticed that new version of the @htcvive Pro Eye SDK exposes more data in the API, particularly eye "wide" expression. Didn't take long to add it to @neos_vr and map to my avatar's eyebrow blendshape! #metaverse#gamedev#social#VR
