You do all the math by hand, including calculating the checksum.

Bitcoiners running nodes should not prune. Keeping the chain in tact from Genesis and helping other Bitcoiners sync is essential. We actually have Bitcoiners today saying "the size of the chain doesn't matter. Just run a pruned node." I reject this.
If everyone runs a pruned node, we end up in a really bad place. Don't promote users neutering their nodes so others can store unlimited garbage under the rug.

I find this pretty amazing. My site has accepted bitcoin only for years. This severely limits the number of possible buyers, but...Now people with NO bitcoin can shop at my store, and magically pay me IN Bitcoin?!?! What kind of magic is this? What are the tradeoffs?
