UPDATE: Airbus A320 Global Software Issue
We’re currently experiencing a global software issue affecting Airbus A320 aircraft. Our A320 fleet is safe to operate, however, as a precaution, we grounded all A320neo aircraft this morning.
To allow aircraft to get to their destination and minimise disruption, a new update from the European Union Aviation Safety Authority (EASA) has now advised that aircraft with this software can continue operating until 12:59pm, 30 Nov (NZT). This means, where possible, we are able to operate A320 services today before commencing the required updates. We’re working quickly to roll out these updates and minimise disruption.
It’s important to know there is no immediate safety risk, this is a precautionary software update.
If you’re travelling today, please keep a close eye on your flight information through the Air NZ App or website. We will also contact customers directly if their flight is affected. We understand unexpected changes to travel are frustrating and appreciate everyone's patience.
