@dmtnatcats community will receive the first ever blockdrop deployment.
Blockdrop is a new DMT distribution method, which unlocks the ability to deploy digital commodities to holders of assets in existing DMT collections.
When assets are deployed as a blockdrop, holders of a parent collection are programmatically given the exclusive rights to inscribe the new assets which share a block number with the asset they hold.
This mechanism is a key web3 metaverse primitive, with important implications for incentivizing value creation within ecosystems. Iโll share more insights regarding this over the coming weeks.
Blockdrop is supported by @tap_protocol, and will launch on @mscribeio.

Iโve designed the rarities in the new collection to showcase this exact dynamic.
Assets in the collection can only be revealed by the community as blockdrops are inscribed. This process will take place over an extended time frame, which means that certain ultra-rare traits could be revealed by the community on day one, or could be revealed 50 years from now.

Basically the same FUD people had for computers.
With any new tech, eventually a critical threshold is reached whereโฆ
1. The ecosystem becomes established enough that people donโt need to โget itโ on a technical level because there are user-friendly interfaces through which they can participate and benefit w/o a technical deep dive.
2. Enough capital enters the ecosystem for teams of devs to expand and become teams of *devs and marketers*.

BUT you will be able to assess the likelihood of each trait occurring based on probabilities. And some of the rare traits are much less likely to occur...

The significance of this can go under the radar if you arenโt tuned in.
Scaling Bitcoin as an ecosystem requires innovation in standards. Web2 jpgs worked fine for IPFS and ETH. But they are expensive as hell to inscribe on Bitcoin, and don't unlock the programmatic possibilities that are native to Bitcoin and web3.
A creator who wants to launch a jpg collection on ordinals has to pre-inscribe all of the assets. This can easily require an upfront investment of tens of thousands of dollars. Huge risk.
Compare this to UNAT. It cost me <$100 to launch Natcats, and the transaction fees for the free mint (estimated $70k) were fully distributed across minters. And this is a collection with fully on-chain rendering.
And now, with privilege-auth in the queue from @trac_btc we'll have distribution controls and paid minting options added to the mix.

Since the release of the UNAT addition to the DMT framework about 6 weeks ago, Natcats have taken the NFT space by storm by introducing for the first time a truly unique value proposition to the digital asset space. Ev, founder of Natcats was the first to deploy an art collection that fully utilized the Unique Non-arbitrary Token framework. This enables the digital asset supply existence and the artistic characteristics of the art itself to be solely determined by block data.
Up until now all NFT art collections have had arbitrary supplies, largely in the realm of a 10k supply which was a market narrative set forth by Cryptopunks in the early days of NFTs. Now, due to the introduction of DMT, non-arbitrary digital asset genesis can be produced by the Bitcoin blockchain itself by leveraging existing NAT frameworks and clever utilization of inscription native technologies such as recursion. Since the deployment, Natcats has generated more than 500BTC in secondary market volume and is quickly gaining awareness among some of the biggest NFT players who are desperately seeking new innovations in the digital asset space. When a market is in its emerging stages (like Ordinals eco), competition should be far from the main concern.
The more products being built โ even if they appear โcompetitiveโ โ the better, as they help create greater awareness for the market as a whole.
At this stage, market growth takes priority and serves as the rising tide that lifts all oars, since the pie isnโt that large yet.
Backing developers and communities โ even when the details of their vision differ from your own โ is almost always a net positive for this reason.

Should be obvious but humor me because I think it gets lost sometimes
Remember that if Bitcoin is up 56% on the 90D against USD
Then an asset at 90D parity in its BTC denominated value is up 56% against USD.
And an asset that is down as much as 35% on the 90D in its BTC value is still at parity or higher against USD.
Problem is itโs pretty hard to find a single chart that shows historical price adjusted for changing BTC/USD value. And a new user who is trying to decide if they should hold their value in either USD or a BTC asset will be thinking in USD.
TLDR we should do a better job of telling the value story
