A crypto community member posted a great question asking why is there a need for
#EpicCash if there is already privacy crypto like
#Monero
Again, this is a great question, and gladly answer it:
#EpicCash achieves its privacy through compression - addresses and amounts are not stored thanks to Mimblewimble, which is also why Epic Cash has real privacy and blockchain size of less than 4GB after almost six years running!
#Monero achieves its privacy through obfuscation by adding fake data to real data, but the problem is that the real data is still on blockchain and is vulnerable to being eventually deciphered as technology advances, or as privacy undermining vulnerabilities discovered like the one in 2017 and others. Also, because of this bloat, Monero blockchain weighs hundreds of gigs unpruned, and about a hundred gigs "pruned"😱
Either way, the world is better off having more privacy options! Many of our community members started in Monero, but as technology evolved - moved into Epic Cash.
one of our community volunteers came up with this entertaining visuals that explains the Monero "tech"
