A new all-island #wind generation record was set on Friday last. The new record saw 4,137 MW of wind integrated on the system, up from the previous record of 4,039 MW. As #StormBrendan makes tracks over the island, we'll be working to ensure the stability of the national grid.

Renewable electricity consumption in Ireland jumped from 36% in 2019 to 43% last year, as EirGrid works to increase renewable energy on the grid.
This puts Ireland ever closer to achieving its target of 70% renewable electricity use by 2030.

Power Off and Save is a pilot programme that rewards customers who agree to reduce their energy use when electricity demand is high.
There is a fundamental shift in how #electricity is being consumed during the #Covid19 crisis - last week saw demand during the morning peak fall by 200 megawatts, enough electricity to power up to 150,000 homes, as people #StayAtHome. Read more: bit.ly/3dDNPEb
We were delighted to host King Carl XVI Gustaf & Queen Silvia of Sweden at EirGrid today as part of their State visit to Ireland. During their tour, the royal couple visited the National Control Centre, where EirGrid staff manage the national electricity grid on a 24/7 basis.
