I watched the full game, and his movement off the ball was incredible also, so idk what this guy's on about.
He was coached (not incorrectly) different to what works for him as a player, it's as simple as that, it happens all the time usually at lower level clubs, but it's not uncommon for a player to sign for a PL club and underperform.
Look at the likes of Andy Carroll, Lukaku, Nicolas Pepe, Fernando Torres was probably one of the biggest ones when he went to Chelsea, Werner is also a prime example, went to Chelsea, underperfomed (due to coaching), went back to Germany, found his feet again, & now he's really showing what he can do at Spurs under the right coaching.
Some players sometimes just get caught up in environments they don't enjoy, just as regular people do with their jobs sometimes. Germany is his safe space, so naturally he's going to shine there. It's all about what he does on his return, I really hope he can play with the flair and tenacity he has at Dortmund, because he really is an exceptional talent.
