After an eight-week operation to fight gun violence and drug trafficking in Dayton, Ohio, 47 defendants were charged and 43 individuals are in federal custody following arrests last week. This intelligence-driven operation was led by @ATFColumbus with support from @HSIDetroit, @DaytonPolice, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, @DEAHQ, and @USMarshalsHQ. ATF and our partners recovered 176 firearms, including machinegun conversion devices and privately made firearms. He has a federal warrant for various drug and firearms offenses which include the illegal possession of a machinegun. He should be considered armed and dangerous. A complaint merely contains allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Assistant Chief Brian Johns' formal swearing in ceremony will be held on Sunday June 14th during the Flag Ceremony that is expected to begin at 2pm and last approximately an hour. The event is at 1 Valley St. at the N. Dayton War Memorial.
