Minneapolis, MN
I got laid off from my writing gig covering the Wolves on April 26th, 2020. And excited to share that as of today — April 26, 2025 — my company has our own offices with a podcast studio. Meant a lot to be able to break it in with both @brittrobson and @KyleTheige — who have been with me since the beginning.

Asked Anthony Edwards about his growth against double teams over the last few months -- after previously being frustrated about those types of coverages. He said he's watched a lot of Luka Doncic film, and learned from that.
Pretty much the entirety of Anthony Edwards's postgame media was him talking about his frustration with the way teams are putting two on him, taking away his opportunities to be a scorer and forcing him to get off the ball. "It's not how I want to play, of course. I'm only 23, I don't wanna just be passing the ball all night... But the way they're guarding me, I think I have to." How hard is it to stay engaged when they do that? "Super hard, super hard, super hard, super hard. Because I'm wired to score the ball."

So yeah, a left-hand jumper is definitely coming. If we’re in the fourth, up 20-plus, and I know I’m about to come out of the game, I’m taking a left-hand trey ball. … I’m gonna come out anyway, I might as well give him a reason to take me out."

Because every time Steph doesn’t play, he doesn’t want to play – it’s his guy Steph. He’ll do anything he can to get ejected... Clown behavior, and I’m proud of myself for being the bigger man again and again. And yeah, doesn’t even deserve me putting my hands on him. My team needed me tonight. I did whatever I could to keep my cool and then show that I wasn’t making the situation worse, and I do hope that the league is going to do what needs to be done because that’s just clown behavior. In the middle of one of his answers to a question not about Jaden McDaniels, Anthony Edwards stopped his answer to shoutout not only McDaniels' defense but his willingness to play that defense without getting the ball on offense: "But I do just want to shoutout Jaden McDaniels before I get out of here. He's been phenomenal this whole playoff run and this series in particular. I think he's like a +51 or something and only probably had 5 points, took 3 shots and all two games. And he don't complain, keep guarding, keep picking up full court. And we wouldn't be the team that we are today, we wouldn't have been the team we was in the regular season. Hopefully we can keep him out there and he keeps playing like that because that's the x-factor of the team. Everything he brings, we thank him so much, man. So big shoutout to Jaden, for sure."

JJ Redick joked in his pregame media about how Chris Finch told him he was taking too many midrange shots when Finch was a coach of Redick's in New Orleans -- despite Redick telling Finch he had a "top 5 midrange efficiency for 8 seasons in a row". I asked Finch about that and, more broadly, about coaching shot selection. (His answer starts out as a joke, but I thought also had some good nuggets in there about teaching shot selection -- referencing the value of the midrange showing up with Ant's game-sealing shot in Portland on Wednesday.)

In my career, KAT has been the only player that has always been on the team. It’s going to be very odd to cover a Wolves team that he’s not a part of. We’ll dive into the trade plenty — still wrapping my head around it. But for now, want to say I’m grateful for the respect he always treated me with — not a given in this industry, especially as independent media. Karl and I became some version of friends over the years. And for me, that will always be something that will stick with me as the years go on. ✌️KAT

Chris Finch said a few weeks back that Karl-Anthony Towns came to him with ideas of what he could do to effectively reintegrate himself to the team when he returned from injury. I asked KAT tonight what those ideas he presented to Finch were: "Just sacrificing. Naz did a great job of having the ball flow through him and capitalizing on opportunities when he could shoot, and I wanted to be able to do that even more. So I think one of the things was just be even more unselfish with the ball and letting the game dictate if I was gonna get 30, 40 or if not. If it doesn't dictate that I'm gonna get one of those nights, it's ok. It's ok to be in a situation where you're playing these games like we have and find ourselves on the winning end. On today's show we are joined by Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore. With @KyleTheige, we talk all things Wolves ownership. Lore: "I think Glen (Taylor) just decided, as he said, that this team is worth a lot more than when he did the deal, and he no longer wants to abide by the contract. It's plain and simple." Rodriguez: "It's time to pass the baton, man. It's time to pass it." YouTube: piped.video/2GcFMyyGvTM?si=U_Nm… Spotify: open.spotify.com/episode/7tl… iTunes: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…
