Daffi One long status report | October 26th
by Marc Bernier | Founder | CTO
Hello everyone, everything is moving along great. Always need to do some adjustments for events we do not control, but all-and-all we're on track as per our white paper, rewards plan and platforms release schedule.
-We're all set for the DaffiOne Pay to be in operations in multiple islands in the Caribbean for the beginning of the 2025 tourism season and from there keep increasing our presence throughout the islands and increase merchants offering DaffiOne Pay. We have delayed the rollout slightly due to the Apple Store situation (see below);
-We are awaiting Google Store to make public version 2.0.40 (revison 322) which bring a lot of improvements and new functionalities, and include a database self-healing function as there's been issues since we integrated Firebase, the self-healing function solves those Firebase issues once and for all;
-Same version is sitting for approval with Apple Store, been delays at releasing the iOS app, but it's not due the app itself. The issues are regulatory and legal stuff. Apple Store is putting up roadblock to the in-wallet swap services and we decided, for the good of the DaffiOne Wallet users, not to give in, but we have been in constant contact with Apple Store and have met all their request, it is expected to come to an end this week, and we are confident that we will prevail, and that DaffiOne Wallet will finally be available on iOS.
-We have a massive brand recognition, and install & try marketing campaign targeting multiple chain that has been delayed due to the Apple Store situation, it is now set to start Nov 1, even if it means we only focus on Android users at first. It's a professional campaign led by a proven & recognised marketing firm that focuses on strategy and brand awareness under the management of
@s0fos
The 1 year campaign is focused on multiple social media platforms, specialised magazines, crypto/stablecoins/fintech/travel promotional channels. Campaign is designed to bring the number of user of the DaffiOne Wallet to 100k+ and to introduce/promote DaffiOne Pay to the world;
On development side, the next 2 months are at further simplifying cross-chain within the wallet, building use case for the in-wallet DiD, adding new chains support, finalizing the in-wallet support for a DaffiOne crypto-backed debit card, completing the white label program and start rolling out white labelled DaffiOne Wallet within partnerships that are in the final phase of making with foreign exchange currency providers, meme coins, metaverses, and card payment services providers to add stablecoins/crypto/tokenize RWAs support to the method of payments they offer their merchants through the integration of DaffiOne Pay in their service lines.
Through October, we added resources mainly to our marketing team, with more new hires starting on November 1st, and have also added 2 members to our soft dev team.
The first public version of the wallet (Oct 1) was revision 300, we are now at revison 322 awaiting publication at both stores, that's 22 update in 26 days. We have listened and addressed all the users bugs and suggestions as they came in. Biggest issue we are facing there is the review process by the stores before the updates are available to the users. Lately, it can take up to a week to get an update approved and made available on the Google Play Store.
As stated at the beginning, we are on track with the plan at pretty much every level, The Apple Store issue did create us some delays on the marketing side but it's a minor setback when you consider the overall progress and what's coming in next few weeks. Similarly, replacement of our internal build notifications and wallet communication system by Firebase has been challenging and created issues but it's now under control and won't bother again. But Firebase opens a whole big wide door to additional wallet communication functionalities, so in the long run, we have not doubt that our users will come to agree that the inconvenience the Firebase implementation created (for many of them) was worth it when we start rolling out the new services it allows.
Thanks for your ongoing support and remember, all Daffi Solutions are for everyone, everywhere.
- Marc
