As of April 2024, Michelin has been in talks with Tesla about testing its airless tire technology, called Uptis (Unique Puncture-Proof Tire System). Uptis is designed to eliminate the risk of flat tires and blowouts in passenger vehicles, which could be a good fit for Tesla's future Cybertaxi. Michelin also claims that Uptis tires could last three times longer than standard tires.

A friend from NL just parked his car, 2 min later he received an alarm notification in his phone, he checked sentry and found a full tree laying over his car, he was very lucky he was not inside, but he was even more impressed on the little impact on the car. @elonmusk

The USPS awarded Oshkosh Defense a $2.98B contract to produce 50,000 Next Generation Delivery Vehicles (NGDV), but the cost has ballooned to $200K per vehicle. Delivery is nearly a year late due to lawsuits & design issues.
Critics argue USPS should've chosen an existing EV instead of the costly NGDV, which has been in development since 2014. USPS paid Oshkosh $482M upfront just to finalize the design.
Amid pushback, USPS ordered 9,250 Ford E-Transits & got $3B from the Inflation Reduction Act for electrification. Oshkosh will build the NGDV factory in NC with a $9M state grant.
