For the first time, a major music IP can be held by the people who actually carry the song.
Fans can take a contractual stake in the royalty stream of "Something Special" held onchain on Injective.
Khalid and Ahn Hyo-seop recently released the song as their their second single from FANDOM
According to the news yesterday, it was said that Khalid is a famous American R&B singer and Ahn Hyo seop is a Korean actor and singer
Them both released a new song called “Something Special.” This song is part of something called FANDOM, which is a new music project that lets fans actually own a piece of the song and not just listen to it.
For the first time ever, fans can buy a real financial stake in the royalties, the money the song earns. This ownership is recorded on Injective blockchain.
When a song is played on streaming platforms like Spotify or Apple Music, TV shows, movies, or commercials, or performed publicly, the people who own the song get paid.
These payments are called royalties.
Normally, only the artists, their labels, get this money. But in this recent advancement, fans can also receive a portion of those royalty payments by owning tokens that represent a share of the song’s earnings.
For this song to come on @injective means that the ownership share is turned into a digital token, like a digital certificate that lives on a blockchain.
And now Injective happens to be that blockchain. So instead of fans getting a paper contract or a private agreement, they now have a digital token that Shows exactly how much of the song’s royalties they own
This Process can be sold or traded to other fans easily, it’s transparent and verifiable by anyone
Lastly, all you need to have is mind is this, when you love a song, you just stream it or buy it. But with this new advanced method, you can buy a tiny piece of the song itself. Every time the song earns money, you earn money too.
And because it’s on a blockchain, you can easily see how everything runs, and you can trade it if you want.
